Default IMEX BAJA tires on TXT-1

I have a set of IMEX BAJA tires installed on stock TXT-1 narrowed rims and like their tread pattern and grippiness but they are a little soft and remain distorted as a result of packaging and storage.

I have considered using soft foam inserts to reshape them. I see the monster tire inserts offered by RC4WD and wonder if they are soft enough to still allow the tire to conform for crawling. The tires w/o inserts are barely stiff enough to support the weight of the vehicle as it is.

The IMEX BAJA's have the best stock tread pattern I have seen and narrowing the rims allows the tread pattern to extend down the sidewall for extra traction. They might work even better with a little careful sipping.

I intend to get composite Maximizer Beadlocks, when they become available, and narrow them as much as possible, then install the IMEX BAJA's on them.

Anyone else using the IMEX BAJA's? Do they work for you?

Not sure on the tires but I had a simular problem when my TXt ties got stuck in a hole. They'd fold up on me. I used some 1'' foam and mad inserts. It cost $3 at my local shipping supply store and works great.

ya, just get a peice of foam and cut a 1-1.5 inch strip out of it and glue itto the middle of the rim, that way it wil conform and still haveeshape...
