Default Proline 8 Shooters Update

If you'll notice, any new set of Proline 8 Shooter wheels that you purchase will now be void of the pre-installed bead lock screws.

Well that will certainly fix the stripped screw problem of the older beadlocks. WTG Proline!

Their earlier beadlocks had the screws preinstalled. The problem was that for some reason the two screw holes were stripped. While not a big problem (the beadlocks held ok without the two screws) it was a quality issue. Now they've responded to customer feedback and addressed the issue. Problem fixed.

Has Proline issued a recall of the earlier rims with the stripped holes?

X2 That would be the frosting on the cupcake. Not that I'm expecting it but it would be nice.

Wow. How would we all strip the bolts as they come out? They are shoved in so quickly and forcefully at the PL factory that they destroyed the threads before you had a chance to.

I'm glad they are fixing this. I like my wheels but told myself that I wasnt going to buy anymore for that reason. Between me an a few friends I know of 3 to 4 sets that were recieved like that. I might pick up another set now.

That's great to hear.
Proline always strives to make great products and improve upon any shortcomings. It was all the valuable input that was received by RCC members that got this minor issue worked out.

Thanks to everyone.

Recall or not, Proline does make a great product! I have been using their products for for as long as I can remember. I am glad they have addressed this issue also. Any advice as to how to deal with the stripped holes and M3 Hammers pulling out and bulging in some spots???

Just go easy on the install of the screws.

As for the M3 Hammers.....I haven't run into many problems but I did have a tire or two that were hard to mount. I just dabbed on a few drops of CA glue, to the wheel. Mounting was easy after that and I've never had a bead come off and no bulges.

Not much of a solution for those of us who bought the old wheels, is it?

Not really a minor issue when every proline beadlock I have bought has had at least those two holes stripped out, is it?

I really believe that either the screw holes are just slightly too big, or the rim material is not right, which is why they were stripped out from the factory, and why so many of us had issues with stripping other screws out also...

Until proline can either get the wheel material right, or get the screw hole size right, these wheels just aren't that good of a deal...

Sorry, but I'm not likely to buy any more of these wheels until I get a solution to MY problem...

I also had difficulty getting my Hammers to mount up nicely. I to used a couple of drops of CA to aid in a near perfect mount.
