Default Another alternative for 2.2 foams...

Hey guys, I was finishing up building the bead locks for my AX10 and noticed I had 4 1/8 scale buggy foams laying around, and the light bulb went off...

The foams are firmer than the stock AX10 foams but shaped completely different. There the a little shorter but are only 1/2 inch thick vs around 2 inches thick for the AX10 foams.

Pics:

You can see how low profile the foams are here:

You can see the extra space inside the tire between the foam and wheel here:

As you can see the foam is just a little bit shorter than the stock tires, but much larger in the center than the 2.2 inch wheels:

And its just a little more narrow than the stock tires also:

Anyway what all that adds up to is, the tire flexes very easily until the foam contacts the wheel and then stiffens up and supports the weight of the truck, they also have a small amount of give on the sidewall but still support it very well.

I'm gonna try it out like this for a while and see if its a decent alternative to memory foams or the legendary "Star" cut pattern... I'll be sure to let yall know how it turns out on the rocks!

Also sucks if the sidewalls are soft too, tried 1/10th buggy foams on my M3 Masher 2000s and they just got wound around themselves. Might be better off using 1/10th scale stadium truck foams if you don't want to star cut or use memory foams.
