2.2 tires for dirt/roots/mud/wet rocks I need a set of aggressive tires for my modified Axial Scorpion for tackling trails. There is a good sized mountain up the road and the hiking trail is full of small streams that cross and so there's al ittle bit of mud and wet slippery rocks and a lot of steep dirt inclines and roots everywhere.. My Losi Rock Claws did alright last time out but have very little sidewall support and are way too soft. Oh, I am using star cut Axial foams in the Losi tires which doesn't help with sidewall support I know.. I guess i"m just wondering if there is a better tire than my Rock Claws.. What say you for these conditions? I need rims too by the way! I'd like to keep tires/rims under $100 that is the absolute limit. |
I guess for the conditions your talking about I would try Prolines Badland or M2000 Masher both in #2 compound I would use a memory foam in at least the fronts. Either one is a good all around tire that cleans out well and delivers good traction in various conditions Wheels ?? Your budget is tight for both new tires and wheels I'd suggest keeping a eye on the for sale section. |
imex rubicons in the soft compound(5" or 5.5" tall) or imex redrocks and eritex wheels. i have the 5.5" tall ones on my comp rig along w/ eritex wheels and love the combo. im about to get some for my 2.2 scaler. |
masher 2k's period. |
I agree Masher 2K. They work well wet and don't pack up with mud unless it's gumbo mud. |
:?:is -was the star cut to much maby a little more foam ? |
masher 2000 all the way |
M2K's and memory foam! |
