Default Idea!

Hey, I was just thinking about you guys wanting grip and stuff for your tires. Some of you guys most of thought of it, but since no one does it, there must be something wrong with it.

You could put something sticky on your tires like pine tar... I havn't thought about it much, but I just wanted to share it with you guys.

The thing with adding a sticky substance to the tires is it will then pick up all the dirt/dust that might be on the rocks and on the ground, so eventually your tires would have so much dirt piling on it, it would reduce traction.

Simple Green is what I used for racing, but after every race i had to wash off the tires because they were literally dirt balls with wheels.

I've said it a thousand times and everyone thinks I'm joking.

PROPANE TORCH!!!! At first they will be like glue (and pick up crap) once they cool down a dab the rubber is INSANELY soft and grips to everything.

Dave, do they stay super soft, or does the effect go away? I don't know why you'd run them right after torching them if they pick up stuff.

Rock1024 said he uses a WD-40 24hour soaking and it softens the tires up big time.

They'll be sticky for the better part of a day. When I did this I'd spend probably just under a minute on each tire, till the whole thing was just at the verge of smoking then go onto the next, and so on. Then after I finished I'd wait about 5 minutes and then they'd be a bit less gooey but still soft.

This was with clod tires; you're experiences may vary. My only suggestion is to go easy on the torch at first ;)
