Adhesive on foams? What is everyone using to glue your foams together to make a two stage insert? Foam CA spray on adhesive shoe goo elmers() Thanks Doug |
I use regular CA-glue. It does a very decent job holding memory as well as regular foam together. The thin stuff gets absorbed pretty quickly, so you better use the thick kind. Also just dot it on the foams surface, since it gets really crusty and you donīt want to produce a solid glue-cookie. Hope this helps. Uli |
I think most will agree that 3M-77 spray adhesive works about the best. |
Yeah 3M Super 77 spray adhesive is the best. Any other type of CA glue or liquid glue is not that great. It soaks into the foam and creates a large hard spot in the foam and it can tear the large cunk of hard glue from the insert either from use or from removing/installing the foam from the tires. |
3ms77 all the way."thumbsup" |

Thanks the info Jesse and where do you pick up a can of 3m at? Lowes, Home Depot, or some hardware store?"thumbsup" |
I get my 3m spray at the craft store, Michael's Eric |
I usually go with 3M, but this time around I had an odd can of Loctite spray adhesive. Not sure how it ended up in my garage, but it worked well. Spray, spray, stick, stuff. ;-) |
Last week I was at my local Hardware store looking for some spray adhesive, Naturally I was looking for the 3M adhesive but Man that crap is expensive!!! I did find some Elmers glue spray adhesive, it was the soft tack type. and about 20 bucks cheaper!! I gave it a shot and it worked PERFECT!!! For 4.99 a can you can't go wrong!!!! The 3M stuff is like 23-24 bucks!!! |
Home Depot has it in the paint section in the aisle with laquer thinner. 3M has a "small" size can (little smaller than can of motor spray), then a big can, don't remember if Home Depot stocks both size cans or just one size.. The big can might be $22 or so like jcboof mentioned. I can't remember the price, it's been so long since I last bought a can. |
3m super 77 is illegal in california, all the tree huggers wont let us have the good stuff! at this rate they will probably make us use distilled spit mixed with splenda:roll: |
