Default rain x

hey ive searched and before the moderaters delete this here is my question, I have a comp coming up where there is a creek crossing right before the hardest part of the comp. So iwas wondering if treating the tires with rain-x would help this?

thanks in advance, LL

rainx is like a wax. I think that would just make your tires slippery.

highly doubt it! rain x would make them more slippery! it might make the water bead off but you wont get traction on the rocks!!!!

i know but its rain x! lol you would be better off coating your tires in butter. i think he just needs a little wheel speed to spin the water off!

don't worry about the tires getting wet they are rubber after all . just get all the water out of your foams after. if its to deep you might have to waterproof the electronics. have fun . hope you win. "new rainx tire mod wins comp"

and in my experience the Panther Leopards or Panther Cougars work good on wet rocks/rainy comps.

some have used simple green and soaked their tires. this will soften and make them more sticky. may work for you. i dont see a little bit of water stopping the simple green!

Another option is to coat in the rainx and then skuff off the top of the tread. May....May be the best of both worlds. Just my .02

sounds goofy but WD-40 also helps. No joke! I took some "wd-40" rubbed it on a set of rock hard tires for a friends on road car and hey presto... grip, funny the stupid things were still so hard it worked for a minute but it was proof of concept I say try WD-40 > simple green and see what happens. Do remember that softer tires don't last as long

I have heard that also but have never tried it. Might try it on an old set of tires and see though.

I did the wd-40 trick on my stock RS10 tires and it was night and day. I did mine for 4 hours, dont do it too long or you will get too much break down of the rubber.

Since I wiped it on I wasn't to worried but yeah, all these tire softening methods are only as good as us drivers are. If we start ripping the lugs off then were burned
