Nice write-up. I am running a set as well and will say they definitely do the job. I tried a couple different foams..proline and some homemade ones and was never really happy. I just got a set of Nova's in them and plan to run them tonight and see how they work.

My only difference in opinion is the mounting. My 1 inch wide delrin wheels are great to mount to, but the extreme width of the tire made mounting the second side a bit of a chore. The beads are great and once you set them clamped down they have no issues.

I have about 20 packs on them and have little to complain about. They are extremely sticky when new, but I really think that as they are breaking in, they are getting better and better. I plan to run these for awhile and with the new changes, in weight and foam, I am hoping they work even better.

I understand the thoughts of price and no foams, but everyone seems to change foams or modify foams, so I can see why they may feel it unnecessary to include them. The price is not super-cheap, but I think it is a great value. They seem to work and have all the right features. As with their full-size tires....You pay for what you get. They have proven themselves in the 1:1 arena and seem to be on track to do the same in the 1:10 area.

I was very excited to see a tire that looked scale yet could perform and Pitbull nailed it. I've been running them on my 2.2 Trail rig that I plan to run at the Montana Scale Nationals. My rig weighs a little over 8 lbs, has tube work, an interior, chassis mounted steering, and is based off a SCX-10. I made my own foams for them but they are almost identical to Nova's stuff. My tires sit at 5 3/8" tall and for me that is perfect. I don't care for the 5.5"+ tall tires, they just don't seem as stable. Grip seems to get better every pack. The wear has been impressive too. My pictures are from this morning and show wear after 15-20 hard packs.

This is a very predictable tire to say the least. They always seem to do what I think they should and hold their line great. At first I was nervous about how wide they were but I was quickly sold. They just fill up the holes that other tires sink in to. Forward bite is very good. I'd say on par with the best comp tires I've ran. They are a great medium speed tire. Kind of think Sedona ex but with lugs that don't fold over. The lugs bite very hard though and it opened up lines to my scaler I've never been able to make before.
Thanks for the "scaler" point of view on these Zach. I'd love to see how they look on my Bronco....I've been looking for a wider tire for my rig. You don't plan to run these in Montana do you? Unless they release them to the general public before then, of course.

They're not supposed to be released until around the first week of June...

So is it fair for someone to run a pre-production tire when no one else can even get them? Seems a little fishy to me.....

Happens in 2.2 comps all the time. How do you know someone at any comp isn't running a special compound on a tire? All I know is they look killer on my rig and I would like to run them.

Nice video, I'll try to get some up this weekend. I've got too much work to do to get ready for Montana though so don't hold your breath.

If you don't allow companies to test new products at competitions it's going make it hard for them to determine what changes need to be made. You can only tell so much by having some guys driving around in the back yard.

Am I bummed that I won't be able to run a set? Yes. But I don't think that means Zack shouldn't be able to run them. If he does well it'll be good press for Pitbull and maybe they will develop other tires for the hobby.
