Testing new foam setup. I took inner 2.2 double deuce 2.00'' wide and narrowed it down to 1 3/4'' Used the prototype outer's 1.9 double deuce outer on top and 1.9 proto double deuce outer on bottom. New setup on the left and old setup on the right Bechtest side hill |

Big difference. I ran old course they setup for scale comp we had weeks ago. The tires don't roll under while sidehilling. I didn't get many pictures. I'm hoping to go back today and test little more. I will try and get some pics and video. | |

We had a GTG this weekend. The more I run my rig the more I love this foam setup. I think I would like to put 2 more runs or so on the current foam. Next I like to try narrow the foam width down little more and see how it does. No ill effects when running in water. |

hey eric, any chance of testing a slightly softer setup? i noticed in all the pics on this page there is hardly any tire deformation, i usually like a little larger footprint.

Got the revised foams in. Thanks Eddie! Here are a few pictures showing that these foams DO compress with a sub 10lb rig, I think mine's about 7lb. Sidewall strength is awesome, you can see the soft outer foam compressing, giving a nice contact patch, while the firm inner foam supports the sidewall |

+1 I'm getting a set of these. That or I'll have to swap out my Baja Claws for another set of tires, but I really like the looks of the Baja's on my truck! |

Eric has been the only person to truly test the 2nd version of the foams. I have not had any time to make any more or send any to testers. If you want to proto type foams from me, contact me. Just understand, they are proto types still. I'm a one man operation and I am over whelmed and unable to keep up with everything. So custom orders and new products are taking longer and longer to get done.

OK, here are some pictures of the version 2 - 1.9 4.75" Tall foams. The average scale truck from the people responding to me seems to be in the 7 - 9 pound range. 4.75" Tall: The inner foam is 1.75" wide with a 1.50" wide outer: Below is a 1.9 HPI stock car wheel compared to the foam. This version uses the 5.5 Double Deuce inner foam. That inner is for a 2.2 wheel but with the amount of lead wrap some guys are running, this is the only way the foam would go around the 1.9 wheel and lead weight wrap. If this design does prove to be a winner though, we will have every density of the Double Deuce foam line to tune with. Again, a 1.9 HPI stock car wheel compared to the 4.75" Tall C.I. dual stage foam: So for the people following this thread and asking me for these foams, here is what a proto type set is going to look like if you choose to buy one. At this point, that is what they are, proto types. I want a lot more feedback from real world drivers before moving forward with these. |
