Default Flat Spots

I did a search on the issue, but nothing has come up.
I have my crawler stored in a box, and as a result, I have found myself with some nasty flat spots, I have considered making a hole in my tires (Alloy beadlocks) to let air out, but I am not very sure if this is the best way to go about it. What should I do.

If this is in the wrong forum, could a mod please move it.

Well i my self have built stands to high center my rigs so the tires dont touch the ground. You can make them out of almost anything just get the tires off the ground and i like to let my shocks fully extend instead of being compressed all the time.

Agreed, buy or build a stand to keep your tires off the ground. Also on the subject of venting, it helps the tires conform to the rocks. I have two 1/8" holes drilled in my wheels. They are tapped so I can plug them if I want to run in water.

Beacuse if you do the shocks will be compressed all the time. Also if you have a slight leak in your o rings then all your oil will eventually leak out.
Having the shocks compressed all the time may not be a big consern to some but we dirt track race in the limited late model class and when the car is not on the trailer or on the track the frame is on jack stands so the shocks arnt compressed.

I think what he meant to say is "I'd just buy a stand, or store your truck on a upside-down cup."

What I do is store mine on a 4"x6" block. I have holes drilled in my wheels to let the air in & out. That's my 2 cents.

Yea, I know about putting the crawler on a mount, but I don't have the space to do so, so I have to store the crawler in a box untill then. So, I can just bang some holes in the tires annd my flat spots will be gone?

punch a small hole in your tires and then throw em in the dryer to get em hot. The foam will pop out again.

No. You're going to get flat spots as long as you've got weight sitting on the tires for any length of time. Get the weight off = no flat spots.

+1.
This goes for ANY type of tire. This includes automotive/truck 1:1, slot car foamies, 12th/10th pan car foamies, crawlers, etc.......

Find SOMETHING to unload the tires, or (bad for some reasons) store the rig upside down or on it's side.

Default tire help

How about just taking them off the truck while you store it ,Toss them in the box with the truck Lying down of course .also just hand tighten you wheel nuts on so you dont loose them .That would be the most logical thing to do .

I would do that, but I dont think I have the tools for the job. I will be looking to aquire some soon when I replace my tires and foams. I will be going from Hammers to sedonas w/ Crawler Innovations DD, because I need more clearance aswell.
