When I sat down to mount my D-lux wheels, I had to sit and stare at it for a bit because it was such a different way of mounting a tire. (my wife even commented on how different they were) But it went together easy as pie! You just have to stop thinking of it as a "normal" wheel. |

Or have bolt in skins made to go behind the plate. As far as strength of the clear goes if you have the time and material available to you. I think it would be worth trying some clear PVC it is a lot more forgiving than poly carbonate. I am very keen to have a go at these wheels. From what I saw in Vegas. After the change to the solid face I was very impressed.

Nice rubber pile. I think you lost half your front tire sidewall tread on that.

| I am not too sure. I just know it has been used at work for some clear piping in place of poly carb.

| Another Idea
I have been running rc4wd stock bully wheels that I cut the center out of the rim and used spacers to make up that area. This is a great Idea and it works great. An advantage to using 8 holes to hold them together is using 4 bolts in each side to hold the bead in the grove with the ring. This allows seating the bead without compressing the tire and adding 4 spacers after. Then the wheel width can be changed without taking the tire off of the bead. I have also changed foam without taking the tire off of the bead. I drilled the threads out of 2 holes on each rim half to bolt through to the other half. It is more hardware but it sure makes things easy.

PETG would be awesome, but its sadly a cold bending material (even in up to 1/4") and typically falls in between Acrylic and PolyCarb. The bending factor would cause the old wobbly wheel effect. I think the only option is going to be PolyCarb, but its not cheap.

Cool, sounds like Poly Carb gets the win. Thanks for clearing that up BT. Now to sit back and wait for a price.
