re: Drill press rim mod's with VP hubs Hey Mr. Vertical, do you use the stock slw hub mounting hardware? If not what do you use. Can't wait to do this I just started spinning my hexes and now I don't have to get new rims!"thumbsup" |

Re: Drill press rim mod's with VP hubs I must try this...very cool!! |
Re: Drill press rim mod's with VP hubs Thanks for the thread. "thumbsup" I bookmarked it a while back but I am about to do this to my 1.9's Axials very soon. I don't have any DH hubs so I am just going to use a smaller drill bit and carefully drill through some 225 hubs I rarely use. |

Re: Drill press rim mod's with VP hubs I just drilled the 1.9's to fit the SLW hubs. I'll post up the after pictures once I get the longer 4-40 screws. Thanks again for the thread. |
Re: Drill press rim mod's with VP hubs Keep a eye out next week i have somthing new i think you all will like it. |
Re: Drill press rim mod's with VP hubs Well, I started to do this mod the night before the first comp. BIG MISTAKE! While this is easy and seems to have gone fairly well I found that the axial 1.9 rims are too thick and the stock slw hardware does not reach. I didn't have any 4/40 screws and I didn't have enough 3m (plus I didn't want to bother retapping all the hub holes to 3m). The other problem I'm now having is no-one local sells any 4/40 hardware so it looks like I'm going to have to retap to 3m any way. But I do have to say I mocked one wheel up last night and it looks FRIGGIN AWSOME! Thanks for this mod and I'll be sure to take some photos when I'm done."thumbsup" |
