McMaster-Carr try part number starting 95947A016 (20MM length) There are alot of length choices if those are too long.

Another experiment...I have always liked these Integy 1.9's but had nothing with pin mount. VP hub mod and they are ready for action!

Had a bit of a hard time with these however due to the VP hubs pattern being smaller than the wheels. I had to open the holes up on the wheels quite a bit, still like the way they turned out.

So I have been thinking more about this mod and have some stuff I n the way from mcmaster. Anyway what I am using to get the bead ring is some old ax10 wheels. I have noticed that when I drilled them out to thread at 3 mill my bead seat flexes between screws. Anyone else notice this? I'm bumping down to 2.5 screws so we shall see if that helps.

Well I got my self some Rocksters to work with so I could give the mod a whirl. Turns out I kinda like them the way they were, so sacrificed my LCC wheels instead. I think they turned out pretty decent. Still need to finish cutting the spacers for the rear wheels and assemble them, but the fronts are done for now. The fronts weigh in at 55 grams Forgot to take a pre-mod weight though.

Thanks Mr V. for the write up.

Some notes about the construction. I'm using 4-40 1/2" hardware all around. Will most likely make some spacers as well to gain a bit more offset for the fronts.

Used a "plastic" cut-off wheel to cut through the center guts. I cut as deep as the wheel would allow.

I used a router bit to "plunge" cut to separate the wheel from the center hex
then used the grider bit on the dremel to remove the rough edges

I didn't have a milling bit, but just used a router bit from the dremel on the drill press and seemed to get the desired result

Finished product mounted

Hey there, great mod!

Where are you guys getting your vp hubs from? Vanquish only or any where else? Are there sets, or just buying multiples of 2 for each size? Any other makers out there like these.....

I have a lot of old buggy wheels/tire and t-maxx wheels/tires that I would like to use and this is a great way to do it!

Thanks
