very good idea. So drill out the stock back ring for 3mm and make a new front face correct? and add in the spacers for the width you want too.

All right here we go first drill out the old holes to 1/8

Then cut out the center.

Next i use a cut off wheel for a dremal you can get at the hardware store.

So fare so good.

To make sure it's flat i use a milling bet.

The next step you'll need a 2 5/8 hole saw.

Make sure your drill is at low speed .

Then take your old rings clap it to the new ring and use a 1/8 drill ,drill them out at the same time after you drill one hole use a old 3mm to keep it lined up.

For the next step mount your new ring to a piece of wood. Then you need a 15/32 drill bet to drill out the new ring to fet the slw hub.d

Now take your body reemer just to make it fet just right.

I have a doner hub for this, drill it out to 1/8.

Now you have all the part you need you can use axial spacers of cut out some delrin or aluminum.

And there you have it .

This good mod for me since I have run 8mm wide hex to clear my TSS,MSD wheels. But with the axial's I can run normal width hex. It looks like I could run SCX10 narrow hex now.

Awesome mod for sure!

This is a really awesome Tech thread! Thanks for making it!

P.S. You sure its a 2-5/8" hole saw and not a 2-3/8" hole saw?? 2-5/8" seems awfully big for a 2.2 disk.

Turbo...
hole saw's are measured outside to outside of the teeth...
and take about 3/16" cut out of the material, so you are left with less than the hole saw's outer measurement.........

that would be my guess why that size......

Nah, I knew they were measured for O.D., I just didnt realize they took off that much material between I.D and O.D.

Thanks for the clarification.

Did I miss it? What material and how thick are you using for the hub face/outer beadlock?
