Narrowing tires... tips

I've searched and found a ton of threads on the benefits of narrowing tires and whatnot, but no real information on the actual process of cutting them. Razor? made some sort of jig? From what i've read, the best way to glue them back in tape on the inside of the wheel and push out and glue the seam.

An X-Acto knife would be fine, just be very careful. You don't want to cut yourself, or cut the tire were you don't want to. A Dremel tool and a cut-off disk should get the job done, or maybe even a bandsaw. It is all really what you are more comfortable with using, and what you think will give you the best cut. You could maybe try this method that has been used before to cut rims - chuck a Dremel cutoff wheel in a drill press, and set it for the proper height where you want to cut the tire. Then you can lay the tire flat, and slide it into the cutoff wheel horizontally, and rotate the tire to get an even cut all the way around. Just something to keep in mind - I am not sure if the cutoff wheel is going to want to melt the tire, so you may want to take it easy at first, just to see how it will react.

the cutoff wheel will only melt the tire if you don't move it
i found the easiest way to split a tire in half was to put my dremel in the dremel drill press and lock it in place where i wanted it and just spun the tire around
but you can use anything
i use to use a pair of body scissors

x-acto and dremel really too much or too easily messed up. Just use scissors.

Have you ever cut down the Losi cravers down to 1.9?
I'm dieing to do a set my self. RPP has them $11 buck right now and, I was thinking of doing some up.

I just use sharp scissors. To glue them I will usually put a few "spot welds" around the tire to hold it in place, then glue the spots between them...
