Default Clueless tire & wheel question...

Since I got started in RC with the AX10 rtr, Ive always used beadlocks.
So when it comes to gluing tires, i'm a newb.

I read a few threads on how you can bake off a tire, but does that make the tire fully reusable, or does the glue harden the bead forever and does the high heat cause problems with the compound?

I just dont wanna ruin a good set of R35 Ripsaws gluing and un-gluing to play with weight setup...

And this is in reference to a wraith kit tires/wheels.

I've read that freezing them makes the glue brittle enough to break the tire free. I haven't tried it though, but it seems like a less damaging method compared to baking and boiling.

Im pretty sure boiling them wont hurt tire or wheel but can screw up the foams pretty good. Your hobby should should have something that dissolves super glue wont harm wheel or tire but is messy and only works so good. Ive used it on race tires with good results.

Also if you are trying to mess with weight try fully glueing the outer bead and only using a couple spots on the back side like 4 spots to be able to test with before you do a final glue down.

I have used the boiling method and the acetone method.

I prefer the acetone method. It results in a cleaner bead.

Just soak the tires/wheels in acetone for a day and they will come right off. You will need to let the foams air dry though.

Glue em with Goop or Shoe Goo. That stuff comes off clean and wont damage the tires or wheels.

Thanks for the ideas.
Apparently, theres more than one way that works.
If I use tire glue, I'll start with the freezer idea. If that works, then I can clean up the bead with acetone.

Never thought of shoe goo. That works great for lead weights in the rim, and it does come out really clean!

You think it'll hold a tire at high speed or in a crawlin bind?
