Default Possibly a silly question - hope not!

I am not a 1/1 crawler owner and perhaps I would know the answer to this if I was...what is the reason for the notch in the wider beadlock rings? Seems that 90% of the wide rings I see have them. Only thing I can guess is for valve stem access on the 1/1's and trying to stay scale on the RC's. I want to pull the trigger on a set of the Locked Up rings below but the notch is killing me.

MThead could probably make you a set of rings without the valve stem cutout

The valve stem notch is used as a point of reference for the actual hardware that holds the bead lock on. Start with the hole over the valve stem then skip two holes and so on.....

For instance on MTHead's 1.9 beadlock rings with 18 holes only 6 holes are actually used to hold the bead locks on.

Check out MTHeads vendor page he has many types of beadlocks with out the valve stem cutout.................

Here is what they are based on.

Locked Up sells the rings separately (made to fit stock Axial wheels) and also now offers a slim ring.

As it's been said ... that is there for the valve stem cut out as it is on 1:1s. I wanted them to look as close as I could get them.

As a bonus, the cut out helps act as a "key" when you are assembling/disassembling .... but with my wheels (and Axials) the screws line up on the front & back so it's not 100% necessary to have.

I do have some thinner rings without the cut out:

I'm hoping to be able to offer more varieties in the future as well and hope I can earn your business!

Thanks so much for your response. I totally get making them as authentic as possible and they look nice...your products appear to be of the highest quality. Thing is, I just don't like the look of the cutout. If you make a wide ring without the cutout I will submit an order right away. Thanks again for your response.

I'll see what I can do.

If anyone else out there is interested in the same thing ... let me know. The bigger of a group of them I can make, the cheaper I can make em for yall.
