| anyone else run thier tires with no foams?
Is there any common sense reason not to? I have taken mine out on the front of my 2.2 sedonas and I think they actually work a little better. Is there any reason anyone can think of why i shouldnt do this? is it bad for the tires/traction in general? thanks in advance, M. |

for one your tires will ball up and get you hung up in holes. 2 the tires wont ever be consistent flopping around. 3 you wont be able to side hill worth a crap.

Two words, side hilling. The rubber will just roll off the rim and the weight will shift and cause it to flip. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk |

Like I just told another guy. No foams makes the tires really floppy. To prove my point, go out and run the truck. Get the truck anywhere you're in a situation that you're coming downhill. Now before the bottom, stop and turn your wheels and give it a little throttle. More than likely your outside wheel will be trying to blow out of your tire. And the inside tire will be trying to come off the rim.

No foams at all? How would not completely compress under the weight of the truck? Maybe some of the older tires with really hard compounds would be fine, but the tires these days are made from really soft rubber and need foam to work properly... |

I do it on some scalers, with the rims airtight.

Are you trail riding in the woods or actually on rocks? I do mostly woods crawling and I can't run without foams

I'm talking about rock climbing vs. trail/scaling. My truck is about 6 pounds or so and it doesnt smoosh out the tire too bad. I did notice today that if my front tires do get in a bind the do seems to catch on ledges etc and stop the trucks momentum. Maybe ill try star cutting the foam vs just taking it out. PS I did notice that going side hill, yeah, the tires do tend to flop to one side or anothr. Thanks guys! M. |

My white dot Rovers sit, rim to the ground without the foams. And that's on the none weighted rear wheels. So no I don't run my rovers without the foams. White dot Rovers with foams compared to the stock tires. Well there is really no comparison. White dot Rovers are WAY WAY better. | |

Try to cut in the Middle of the foam with a knife until you get it soft enough. Skickat från min GT-I9300 via Tapatalk 2 |

Only success I've had with no foams is the 1.5" rc4wd mud thrashers I think hey are called. They come with the rc4wd trail finder 2. They were wayyyyyy too stiff with foams. Without they still have more than enough support but traction is vastly improved. I have kept them sealed up also.

I know this is a pretty old thread but i figured I'd throw in my experience on the subject in case anyone else comes along reading this. I prefer no foams in my tires. I very rarely have any problems side hilling. The way I really like to do it though is remove the foams put the inside bead lock on and then fill the tire with about 80% water and it has worked wonders for me. The water give a me plenty of weight and give a good amount of support as Well.

Right foams and weights woud work much better, and it wont break the bank ether. Cant imagen a scenario where tires without foams are better than tires with any, even stock foam at all. |

I use about 1# of stainless steel ball bearings in each front tire. |

Hmmm you don't run tires without air do you ? That's what foams do, support the tire to keep the contact patch proper Hang up and Drive |

I ordered wrong size foams for my growlers while back. I ran them just because and they were terrible. Anytime I needed to turn the tire would just fold and push over. Snapped one picture because it was funny at the time. Now they have the right size ci foams and don't fold anymore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
