| Pin tire petition
I didn't see any other threads so hopefully this isn't a repeat. But who would want the tire manufacturers to make us some more 2.2 pin tires? I emailed HB a while back and they said if the interest was there, then they would think about it. Just got off the phone with Panther, and they said the same thing. I am currently using 2.2 HB Khaos red pin tires, and have some pink compound too. I would also like to try a set of megabites. The cut-n-shut tires are too expensive in my opinion because of the needing 8 tires to make 4. So if these placed stepped up and offered more tires, maybe we can have some killer new options and not pay out the ass for em I would like to see: HotBodies: Khaos tires for a 1 inch wide 2.2" wheel 5.5" tall Block tires for a 1 inch wide 2.2" wheel 5.5" tall Megabite tired for a 1 inch wide 2.2" wheel 5.5" tall Panther: 38 series Raptor tire for a 1 inch wide 2.2" wheel 5.5" tall 38 series switch tire for a 1 inch wide 2.2" wheel 5.5" tall SC rattler tire for a 1 inch wide 2.2" wheel 5.5" tall Of course mold costs aren't cheap for these places. So any boss-claw like tire without sidewalls would be cool for more options. Please post up your wishes for pin tires and I will bug them to make us some more tires . |

OttSix is working on some comp pin tire, bt it is of unknown spec. I "think" it'd be weasy for companies like HB, Pro-lin and maybe even AKA to just lay their existing trread patterns out on a 2.2 I think he main thing is convincing them taht it is worth their time. I personally would like to see a stepped pin design similare to hte AKA enduros or the Pro-Line Calibers. A steeped pin like that opens up sooooo many more options ofr trim jobs a there is effectively two tread/pin depths and you could remove just the first mini pins & leave the denser, stiffer base pins, or trim the compeletly off. |

I am definitely up for more pin tyre options. I love my Khaos/Rovers and will be building some blocks soon. Red compound all the way. The Paqnther Raptor looks unreal too. Lots of pins to cut any way we like. Tyre manufactures only need to look at the demand for the Boss Claws when they were out of stock to see that there are plenty of people interested in running pins. i like the panther compounds the best and the raptor looks like a good tire to start with. the boss claws have proven to be a good performer, but a cast iron bitch to mount! the HB khaos would be outstanding in a 2.2 size as long as the height of the tire is kept in the 5.5 inch range. the biggest problem i see in the cut/shut tires is the width of them on a 2.2 rig.

I've been running on some cut-n-shut AKA I-Beams for a little while. Great tire so far but would be awesome to not have to make them.

Though I haven't got around to the glue job yet, I was thinking of trying out some Proline Hole-shots. They feel very grippy compared to any of my other tires. Like velcro. I'll let ya'll know when I get around to it. |

I am looking forward to a company to make some nice pin tires. HB/panther would be great. I have some Panther t300 tires that i have in 5.5 configuration with lepord sidewalls. I really like those tires with some well tuned foams. Some company needs to step up to the plate |

I'd love to see some more pin options especially at a better price point, buying eight tires to make four is a bit pricey. That said there's obviously some kind of market but it's probably a pretty small one. | |

Just for clarification. The 2.2 Khaos-Rover tires are NOT 5.5" mounted up. Mine are ~5.1" up front and 5.3" out back on my berg. That is on 0.75" wheels. And right at 2" wide. Alot of guys think they are massively tall. And they have lasted me almost 2 years. Paid $80 Not many of the 2.2 comp crawler tires today look anything like 1:1 tires. Someone did say to me once that they had seen some 1:1 European crawler pin tires but I can't find a picture of them on the internet. |
