| vanquish bead lock rings?
so i just got a set of slw v1 bead locks and i noticed that the rings are dh which i don't think matters but i mount a losi rock claw on to one but noticed that the bead lock ring doesn't sit/fit on top of the bead of the tire? the stock axial ring does fit directly on top of the bead but the vp one seems to be a bit wide and goes over the bead? anyone else have that issue or is it just the losi claws?

I have always respected you based solely on your avatar pic, but I don't know whar your talkin bout. I have DH's and SLW's and the bl rings are interchangeable. Easiest wheels to mount tires on (compared to steelies, RC4 alum. bl's and axial rims). You must be mad. Note, I never tried those tires. |

not mad just suck at explaining the bead section on a tire, it has that lip on the outside of it, the axial bead lock ring will fit inside that lip but i noticed the vanquish one is a bit wider so it covers the lip instead of being seated in to it. understand now? not saying they suck, just trying to see if im the only one or if others have also and know a solution lol will try to get a pic later to better explain lol

I haven't noticed that with VP rims but have with others, I would just tighten them and then when they were good and snug I would go around and pull the tire slowly out till that "lip" was around the ring. That always worked for me.

maybe its just the claws? don't have any other tires to test. i did mention that the wheels came with DH rings, would that make a difference? | |

Yes I completely understand what you are trying to say! I hope I worde my answer well too Like I said, I haven't noticed that with VP rims but i have with other rims. It could just be the claws as well. Hope this helps |

I my self use only the DH rings bacause they are a little bigger and seam to hold the bead better then the smaller SLW rings |

I have had vp rings do that to other tires too. Not a big deal, just pull out that little section that gets clamped after you tighten the ring down |

Dont worry about it. When you get the screws tightened down just use your thumb to pop that little step, out from under the ring.

I noticed it with Axial Ripsaw tires on my SLW V4's.
