Most of RC4WD's 1.55" wheels are less than an inch wide (.8")... which leaves a wide tire bulging over the edges. They look over inflated, fat and silly imho. Please make the 1.55" narrower and more scale. I understand the Class 3 (4.75") tires being giant for performance sake but they don't really look scale with most bodies because of the size... |

4.19x1.2 would be fine. However, I'd like to see a 3.75x0.9 for the smaller bodies such as the Parma 57 pickup, tamiya bronco, Fj40, and CC01 chassis vehicles. Obviously going for a more stock appearance. Thank you for diving into a less popular wheel/tire size. Now we need more 1.55 wheel choices.

| Re: Who Wants a 1.55 Pit Bull???
I would be most likely to buy something in the 4.1 to 4.2 height. Width I would say in the slightly over 1 inch like 1.1 to 1.2. I know there is some desire for a shorter tire for some of the reasons posted (smaller bodies, or for options such as scale stock size tire height). But not many people run a tread/tire like a Pitbull in a stock size on a full size vehicle. I am not saying there is not "some" desire out there for that. I just think the biggest market would be for something like the TF2 which can fairly easily use a 4.2 inch tire and comes with the 1.55 wheels. Recently I picked up some RC4WD Rock Stompers for it and they were back ordered everywhere. I assume it is in part to all of the TF2's you see running them now. I know it is not only TF2's that run 1.55's but it is definitely the most popular rig to come with that size rim. And with the cost of the body, not too many people are cutting them up or modding to fit larger then class 1 max size tires. Some have used up to 4.5 or so offerings from RC4WD. But the most popular choice seems to be around the 4.1 or so size as they can be fit so easily without major mods to the rig. I can't say for tread depth. I don't see much of a noticeable difference between most of my 1.9, 1.55 or even some 2.2 tires I have. I have never measured them and mostly when buying something, it was about the style and accuracy to the full size version. So I don't know what to say on the tread depth? |

Looks like 4.19x1.125 might be the call .165 tread depth or so. Thoughts? |

I may swim against the tide on this one, but I'm looking for something smaller, there are already a lot of "giant" 1.55 (Baja Claw, IROK, Mud Slinger,...) but I'm looking for a decent alternative to the mud trashers, and I can't find anything ! All the others tires in the same size are really outdated (rock crusher ?) or useless (dirtgrabber ?). I would buy the pitbull right now if they were in that size area ! edit : Mud trashers spec. : Outer Diameter: 3.74" (95mm); Width: 1.33" (34mm) |

4.19" height for Class 1 legality for sure, please! I'd prefer a 1.9" wheel and the Rocker tread. Thanks for asking!

What is the best 1.55 tire out there right now? Should we make the beads the same as we did on the 1.9 tire? Do you want ribbin on the inside?

| Re: Who Wants a 1.55 Pit Bull??? I agree with bmuzz - I'd like to see something a hair wider than 1.125...I don't like MTZ because it's too narrow. I know it's not far off but 1.25 would do the trick for me. And as for the best 1.55 tire now...make me a set of 1.55 rock stompers in x2ss compound and I'd be all over that like flies on stink! Oh...and then make me a set of 1.55 wheels that'll help pull 'em in a little Last edited by brianw; 09-09-2012 at 05:33 AM. |

okay well i agree with B, we need a meatier wider 1.5 and ribbing would be a bonus. The 1.9 is fantastic tire but rollover can be extreme in sidehill situations. you asked....lol. I want to see 1.55 pits for sure |

I tried a few tires on my TF2 after getting it built. mind you this has all been in the past few weeks so not a lot of run time. I liked the stock tires, but too short. They had good dirt and rock traction. But they caused a lot of hangups due to short sidewall. I ordered some Stompers and while waiting for them to come, I tried some 1.9 Flat Irons. They just fit my setup clearance wise. Being about the same size as the Stompers is what led me to try them. Just stock 1.9 Flat Irons with stock mem foam on Axial beadlocks. The height was a nice addition. And I didn't need to mod the rig to fit them (no trimmed fenders) though I do have the valance trimmed to bumper height. But I found the foam setup a bit soft. Too much sidewall flex, etc with the weight of the rig. I know the 1.9 PitBulls are even softer then that setup. Once I got the Stompers, I liked the performance a lot. The Height of the Flats but a stiffer setup. I am not getting into the tread types as that is irrelevant for what we are talking about. I am just basing this on stock, unmodified tire performance on a rig that I think the 1.55 Pitbulls would most likely show up on. Foam tuning etc will be done by many as always. But the majority will bolt them up in a stock type configuration and run them like that. So I would say that a bit stiffer then they come in the 1.9 config would be nice. Some sidewall ribbing would be nice. I have not had issues with my 1.9 Pitt's but I know some people I run with have and it has been mentioned many times on here (RCC). I am talking about pinholes and maybe tears in the sidewall. So i think a bit sturdier sidewall would be a benefit. It would at the same time help in stock form to work well on a 6 pound plus rig. For the bead, I would say make it a bit on the thick side. Many people are going to run these on the RC4WD beadlocks (steelies). For one, they come with the TF2 and as well as they are 1/2 the price of many other beadlocks in the 1.55 size. In the past year or so, RC4WD has made mods to the inner ring on the Steelies. Many tires will now slip out of the beads. They did this so the wheels would work with the very popular Proline tires. And those have an odd shaped and rather thick bead. So if you make the 1.55 Pitts with a smaller bead, they will not work very well with what will be the most poplar wheel in that size. these are all just my suggestions on what I need/want/have experience with. I am sure there are plenty on here with other desires. I think what I am suggesting is pretty average. Not too tall (still fit in class 1). Not to short (be over 4 inches tall). Be a bit stiffer then the 1.9 Pitts. And have a thick enough bead to work well with the most popular 1.55 wheel (the RC4WD steelies). Thanks regardless for taking the time to get peoples input on these before throwing them on the market. Last edited by Rook82; 09-09-2012 at 07:15 AM.

For the wanting a smaller 1.9 don't forget we can stretch a 1.55 over a 1.9 wheel. So a 1.55 bead would be fine for everyone.
