has anyone ever heard of these? if so do tell. anyways i guess ive never seen them before but i think a company (maximizer or imex) should make some. all maximizer would have to do is make there current design a bit smaller. but im sure there would be plenty of support from the scale crowd if these were made. rob if u read this maybe u could tell imex about it along with the million other things uve been telling them about. and if u have ties with maximizer that would be nice too. fuzz

RC4WD has a whole host of them. They are aluminum wheels though, and pricey at that. I imagine beadlock rings that attach to regular 2.2" wheels would be the easiest to do from a manufacturing/cost standpoint.

exactly what i was kinda talking about. i havent seen "non fake" attachable rings. but if maximizer could downsize their design i think that would work great edit:i didnt find any 2.2 beadlocks on rc4wd.com all they had were maxx sized beadlocks.

You know fellas, I may be showing my age, but associated used to make what they called "three piece rims" for the 1/10th trucks that were (I believe) the first r/c beadlocks. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...LX2959&P=0

The AE beadlocks aren't good at all. You can read a full review here: http://bigdoubleurc.com/community/showthread.php?t=97

Maybe they suck for racing, but I thought this was a CRAWLING forum. I have used them at high speed, you just can't expect them to hold a tire with those reinforcing ribs at the bead, like this:http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...LXDX79&P=0. If you are using a tire with a more conventional bead, they hold just fine. I believe if you look at the review you quoted, the tires were what I say doesn't work, combined with high speed use.

In the early 80's all offroad wheels were 3 pc (beadlock). I still have some assciated wheels from the late 80s. They work great unless you put the wrong tire on them. Maximizers tmaxx wheels won't work with proline tires unless you buy the rage rings. Bruiser, hilux 4x4, blazing blazer wheels are beadlock also.
