Default venting wheels and tires ?

Why do people vent wheels/tires? Is there a bonus to this? Does it help with anything?

Thanks in advance,
Kenneth

It helps 100% IMO. When crawling, even with a 1:1, it gives the tire the chance to conform to the rock. If it's not vented or air down, it just spins or bounces an you get no traction.

Ok so would I get a lot of grip if I vent wheels/tires and cut the foams in a star pattern?

Wheels or tires, doesn't really matter. And yeah a star pattern and vents would increase your grip immensely.

If you got it, an electric carving knife. If not a fine serrated knife will do the trick.

I vented my rims and cut foams in my ax10 scorpion. Yes it worked well.

Now I sealed my rims, run no foams. Just air presure in them. I feel it is better now. Try things out and see what works best for you..

IMO I think the best tires to vent and cut foam for trails is the Proline Superswampers. I've had those for years now and it work 100% they just hug that rock and give u a good grip. Just my .02

Ok so I vented my wheels two holes per wheel and decided that since I have some proline chisels on the way I would experiment with foam mods with my flatirons and did a 6 point star design and with that and the vents I love the way they feel. A lot more 'cushion' . I can't wait to try these on the rocks once I get a new servo.

Vent the tires. Venting the wheels will not let dirt/water escape which leads to ruined foams.

If done properly it allows water and dirt to exit the tire which helps your foams last longer. Plus it will help your Rig land better if your into jumping
