Default I ruined my OMF's!

Or did I?

I made some cosmetic inserts for my Vanquish OMF 1.9 wheels. I can't leave well enough alone. The wheels are already sexy as it is but, I wanted to try something a bit different.

Here are the inserts I made. One set out of brass and the other out of aluminum. Drilled to accept scale hardware. The two different inserts are a slightly different bolt pattern where they accept the scale hardware. They are .062" thick and do not interfere with how the wheel goes together.. they just slip into place and are held on with the 6 wheel lugs that hold the hex on.

Here's how they look installed.

I think I like how they turned out. Easy way to change the look of the wheel. What do you think?

Thanks!

I wanted to use the M2x7mm scale hardware for the outside of the beadlock ring but, they wouldn't just thread in like I hoped. Maybe someday I'll get around to wanting to hand tap each hole so I can use the scale hardware there as well.

Sorry, not feeling it. They look like a Hummer wheel now. You did a nice job on the inserts though.......

I wonder how they would look with a different style beadlock ring on there. The one I chose covers up a lot. I'm not sure which ones I want to run just yet but, There are a few in my club with the same wheels so, I figured I'd try to make mine a bit different.

Funny thing - I would like them to look more like Hummer rims with weld on rock rings. I ran them on my mog'ed TJ and would love a set of scale ones.

Great job!

Nice work! Not my style, and does it interfere with removing the wheel nut? Seems like very little clearance to get that scale hub off. And suck to hear the m2 scale hardware didnt work out ><
