Default Axial Trail Ready bead locks and BFG Krawler KX

Got a couple sets in today and gave them a good look over.

The tires stink, literally. The whole shop stinks, even 6 hours later. I was told these were R35 compound but not sure. I don't have any R35 RipSaws here to compare with and these are not marked with the traditional white dot. They measured 5.400" when mounted on a wheel with my calipers. In guessing they'll squat to 5.375" on a rig. Perfect size if you ask me.
Here's a comparison with the Rock Beast II and Two Face tires.

None are mounted on a wheel. The Rock Beast has CI foam, the KX and Two Face have stock foams.

The wheels are similar in design to the scale VP wheels being offered in the sense that they use only 6 bolts to separate the wheel and remove the tire. Another cool feature is the adjustable vent system. There are 3 settings for adjusting air flow in and out of the wheel. They are also VP hub compatible, which I would strongly suggest and I'll show you why. Here's some pics of the wheels broke down.

The factory supplied hub is a pin drive and its plastic. I would expect them to last all of 5 minutes on a
Decently powered rig.

The wheels weigh 1.7oz with their hardware and supplied hub.
They measure 1.340" to the bead shoulders and 1.720" outside the rings.

Vanquish hubs bolt right up. They helped with the design. Just like when the XR-10 wheels came out.

I know people, but RPP has pull offs in stock, or they did yesterday.

Already sold both sets of wheels I had, ones set of tires, and keeping the other set for Venom One as soon as I get the new wheels for it.

So the tires have a stink odor to them- is it as bad as those Lizard tires that came with the AX-10 kits??

Can't compare to them but the shop still stinks today. I'm gonna give them a bath and see if it helps. Don't really know how to describe it. It's kind of a weird chemical/paint/burnt plastic smell.

Some people just want the scale goodness. They aren't priced any higher than other proven non-performing licensed scale tires.

Has anyone run those wheels? Do they hold a bead?

They hold the axial bead well given a tug test. The inner ring is a little flimsy but once assembled they are stronger. Sorry I don't have better info. Both sets I had are already boxed for shipping.
