Has anyone tried screwing a small self-tapping screw directly into the tire bead? A la drag racing slicks?

I drilled and screwed my rock rings through the bead and rim. They hold really well.

Do you use CA in addition to the bead screws? Or do the screws hold up just fine? I might try it with my Sledgehammer wheels and G-Dawg tires since the dawgs seem to have a pretty chunky bead.

I had them glued on first so yes there was CA. It still looks pretty strong with just the screws.
