It's probobly the same st of the guys use at the dragstrip, if it is, it just makes them temporarily sticky. The only way to make the actual tire softer is a different compound or pre-heat them.

to make them softer before you go out take them and give them a god coat of wd 40 and wipe it off after around 30 minutes and then if you want them even softer take motor spray cover the tire and then light it we do it for the buggies all the time

I have been carving up another set of tires... Since my GF used all my rotary sanding deals for something she was doing; I resorted to the grinding stone knowing it'd make a bit more heat and smoke... When the tires get heated up to hot enough to start melting, its like it devulcanizes them, and they become insanely sticky. The effect has lasted a day and a half now, so it might even be permanent. If not I imagine Ill just bring a propane torch to comps to warm up my tires

you can use paragon traction compound it works very good on touring cars and will leave the tires sticky even after a day of 40mph tire ripping action.
