Default Narrowed Axial 40 Series Beadlock Wheels

After how well this job came out both the customer and I though you guys may want to check them out. These are a set of 40 series Axial Beadlocks that I custom narrowed and fiberglassed for the customer. These are about as narrow as you can go without having to modify the beadlock system which we didn't want to do here. The wheel were surprisingly easy to work with and the finished look is out of this world. Thanks to my customer for letting me show then off. Thanks Steve!

Right now we will custom narrow any wheel that can be narrowed as a service. We just may offer this beautiful beadlock after seeing first hand how nice it is and how well it splices.

Looks good but 2" wide would be better.

With a 40 size beadlock you'd be looking at $35.00 return shipped to you if you sent me your wheels.

You'd be surprised at how much I took off. I have seen the other post here before where the fellow took them down to two inches. I however wanted to leave the full depth of the beadlock screws and keep some serious structural integrity. As a vendor it's best that my work holds up. Two inches is easy if you own them and aren't worried about failure.

You can go alot skinnier that that with the axials Can't with the prolines though. My axials are cut down to,if I remember right,1 3/8" wide. Talk about making the Moabs skinny up Coarse my Moabs have a 1/2" taken out of the width also. IMHO,perfect combination. The tires still hook up like mad and my 359's turn them sooooo much easier now.

I can almost always go narrower on any wheel then what I do, or recommend. I go very narrow on 2.2's because there's not much of a tire scrub problem due to the small size and light weight. I'm surprised that your tires turn easier after moving the center out that much on such a large tire. I'm glad it all worked out well for you. And if it didn't all you have to answer to is you.

It didn't move the center out any more than narrowing them down to 2". You gotta double narrow them Take as much as you can from the back and then the same from the front and you coupld possibly go as narrow as 1 1/4" wide if you wanted. Possibly even skinnier if you wanted to buy shorter screws. IMHO though,1 3/8 to 1 1/2" is all you need to go.

You can't go that narrow with the Prolines because of the way the wheel is. Most of the wheel is at the face of the wheel,so you can't double narrow them. Going this narrow with the Prolines, you'll get a ton of scrub steer, like your saying. Even if you didn't care about putting up with crappy steering and a mile of scrub,I don't think you can get this narrow with Proline beadlocks. My son runs Prolines,I could probly go a little narrower but it'd add scrub bad. I think his are at 1 7/8" wide right now.

Okay, if you double narrowed them it all makes sense now. Yes they could be taken down quite a bit more without adding tire scrub and still be stucturally sound. The whole thing for me is I'm not going to narrow the face side of a wheel without specific instruction from the customer. Too many customers aren't going to want to see a cut line on the front of their chrome plated wheels no matter how good it may be. Looking ahead however to better service my customers I will now be offering this as an option on wheels that can be double narrowed. Thanks for the clarification and idea.
