Mountain bike tred tire Well I decided to make a tire with Mtn. bike tred I used a WTB Weirwolf tire. It is fairly soft. It took about ahalf an hour to make one tire. Here are some pictures of the one I made, I still have to sand off the CA glue and some little touch ups. So what do you think? thats one mean looking tire! I have thought about doing the same for a long time, but never got around to it. You will have to let us know how the durometer hooks up! |
looks like a bad *** tire that would work on the rocks..does it have good flex after you glued the new tred on? |
thats looks like a good mud tire |
awesome idea! How much time did that take you to make one tire, and when are we going to see a video of that thing in action on the rocks/ in the mud!!?/"thumbsup" "thumbsup" |
c'mon give us some action shots or a vid |

Good job, I hope they work out well for you. I love seeing people come up with new ideas and try them out. |
looks like a mine! sink any ships with that? mean as hell looking. hope it performs as well as it looks. |
Nice job "thumbsup" Looks like they'll have excellent side-bite. How much of the bike tire was used to make one RC tire? |

If that thing works as good as it looks I may be following in your tracks. |
Looks mean, but my guessing is that it wont have a soft enough compound for slick rock, should work pretty well on the jagged stuff, though. Nice. "thumbsup" |
Pretty cool. |
Excellent idea there. You should try it with a Maxxis Slow Rezay Down Hill tyre somethinglike a Minion or a highroller. They have a super soft slow rebound rubber compound, I think the durometer is 40 where most MTB tyres are around 60-70. On a bike they comform to the trail and are eerily quiet compared to normal tyres and are GRIPPY! Used by all the top teams and anyone in the know, also they arent expensive. They wear quickly on a bike, but then crawlers arent pinging off things at 40-60kmph not to mention the braking! |
Any updates on these tires? I'm curious to know how well they worked, if at all. |
id like to know hgow well the tire works |

Get some pics of them on something. Do you have problems tearing the side lugs off? Do they grip well on hard surfaces? |
