Default perfect sealed tire setup?

Looking for advice from anyone who has tackled this setup before. I've got a new pair of Irok's that I wanna run sealed on my axial 8 hole beadlocks. I scored a whole strip of stick on weights from the tire shop for free. I added them to the inside rim, 2.75oz each front. Of corse they made the rim essentially larger now. I'm sure if I button all this up with the foams and weights and sealing the tire they will be way to hard, without the foams they will be nearly flat and taco all the time, I HATE that! So advice on how to get them just right, not sitting flat but not hard and bouncy as heck either. Should I trim the foams a bit? Use my old trepador foams that are severely broken in? I wanna get it right and done the first time if possible, buttoning up these rims with 12 screws each rim really sucks.

I would cut out a "V" relief in the middle of the foam for the weights and then just mount up the tires as you normally would without the weights.

FYI, 2.75 oz in tire is A LOT, it'll cause unneeded stress in the drivetrain. Especially your servo.

A lot of weight? that's the least amount of weight I've heard of installed in fronts yet. People are putting half a pound in EACH of their fronts I've read, are they just idiots or what? I mean what's that all about?

Nobody is an idiot- that's a little uncalled for.

If you have the cash, knuckles weights are better and easier to tune.

I didn't call anyone an idiot, that would be uncalled for. This however... is ok? Enough irony for my day there... unless of course I get banned for using the sites own emoticon. I appreciate the directional steer towards knuckle weights, that seems a great deal less troublesome indeed.

Why aren't there any axle weights? I mean how easy would it be to just add some 1 oz tube sinkers to the tops of each axle.

I'm assuming you have an SCX10? If so, steel Beef Tubes would be what you're looking for as far as the axle weights go. If you get Beef Tubes, you can then get the Wraith chubs and knuckles and then utilize RcBros' knuckle weights.

There are. Both aftermarket and home-brew.
Scale guys don't tend to use them, and knuckle weights place the weight out further where it has more leverage.

Beef Tubes also add weight to your axle and strengthen it.

For a while I had saddle-pack battery mounts on my axles with weights bolted down to them.

Strange I wasn't coming up with search results on axle weights for rc. I'll look into those "beef tubes", hopefully I don't get the kind of search hits I'm imagining from that one.

Yes, that is not a lot of weight in stock plastic beadlocks. I would not use more than this though. In aluminum or steel aftermarket beadlocks I would not add any weight, they are already heavy enough.

Steel Beeftubes for SCX axles:

Biggin69 has them for AR60 axles too, great products!

Please do not refer to your links as Beef Tubes as that, they are not. Visit beeftubes.com to get the original Beef Tubes.

I some how have managed to squeeze 3.5oz of weight in each of my 4 wheels...Not saying I recommend it as you will notice a drop in run times and naturally more stress to the drivetrain although ive been lucky to have not broken anything as of yet.

But im slowly removing weight as I upgrade my axles for added weight where its better placed.

100 percent recommend the beef tubes from Biggin69..Also you can get the HD axial gears as well as some Locked UP OT2 axles..with the combo of the three you really shouldnt need much weight in the wheels if any.

The tubes and axles are next on the upgrade list for my Honcho.
