I've heard of and experienced the scale bolts falling out. I plan on using some blue loctite on them but need a tool to pull them out and re-tighten them. What tool are people using? I called around all the local places for a 2mm nut driver but can't find one. Anyone have a suggestion?

The RC4WD tool works fine: Miniature Scale Hex Bolt Tool (M2 Hex)

I found one that will be easier to use I think.

Gear Head RC 2.0 mm Precision Nutdriver

I pulled my outer rim off and dropped a drop of blue loctite on the back of each screw. It's only putting a small amount on the screws, hopefully it's enough to keep them in.

You should be fine with the blue loctite

1.55 wheels would be nice. There isn't a lot of selection out there!

As you say RC4WD & VP hubs do not interchange as there is approximately 0.25mm difference in the bolt pattern radius and the OD of step at the front of the hub is also different.

SSD wheels use M2.5 x 8mm screws in the hub (Not the same as VP hubs).

So if you want to use VP hubs you also need to get the hardware that a VP hub requires.

Can't change the width of steel wheels.

All rings and hubs on SSD wheels are aluminum.

Has anyone by chance tried the new voodoo u4 tires with the 2.2 beadlocks? I love how they are slw compatible, but I don't want to buy some just to start having them popping beads all the time(BTW I'm going to be scale crawling more than U4 racing but I would like to keep y options open since vp wheels are like 2.5x the price)

They will hold Voodoo tires just fine (as long as the Voodoo tire beads have not changed recently).
