Wow, they did a great job on that tire. I just got some goodies from sdi on monday, and am pleasantly suprised on the quality of their stuff. Wish i would have waiting a week, i would have gotten these over the grip doc's. Shipping wasn't a hassle either.

It's a new, softer compound. I want to get for future builds.

These are probably a tad softer than the grip doctors, and because the sidewalls are a bit thicker they don't deform as much. I plan on getting some wheel time this weekend with them! And if they grip as well or better than my grip doctors they will do awesome on the rock around me! I had people cracking up watching my stock scx climb with the grip docs and even had me baffled. I believe the real rubber and how the tread doesn't just give all the time is reason they do so well on the rock. Plus, it makes a sound just like the 1:1 tires when it's fighting for traction. I'll post up some pictures when I get the chance!

from the website:

1. Perfectly proportioned lug geometry for super scale realism.
2. Rounded contact patch that is narrower than the sidewall, for true tire shape just like 1:1 tires.
3. Reduced inner diameter for a snug fit on your 1.9 wheel.
4. Real rubber compound for long life and extreme stickiness.

got to test them out this weekend. Very well, in a rush. Just wanted so bad to try them! Okay, I wanted to see if this reduced bead diameter and thick wall of real rubber with no foams worked well, so I didn't even glue them onto the -3 offset SDI narrow wheels I got with them, and just tried it. Well the conditions were very wet from the night before rain, and some rain that day. All I can say is I am impressed! I thought I would have alot of trouble with the wet rock in our area, but it didn't seem to bother them. Without glue I only lost one bead a couple times during the day, and didn't notice any spinning. So I think the claim of "very little glue" works (I hate gluing tires). Here's the picks. I just slapped a body on my pretty much stock SCX.

no foams, not bad...

I'm happy.

anybody have a set of these they aren't using?

also, how do yall's opinions of these wheels hold up now? are they still pretty awesome, or do the newer released tires on the market perform better?

I have a set of Trail Doctor XL tires and they worked fine with the Axial 8-hole beadlocks. Just like every other tire I have ever tried the Axial 8-holes just work. Might not be the most scale looking wheel but it blends in with my scale builds well enough.
