That just seams weird, why would they do that. Crawling is a nitch so why not make the most money you can from every option for your company. If it's 5-25% of people that follow rules those people will not buy these.

Bad move if ya ask..

Come one pro line change it to read 4.75. Rc4wd did good move.

When I was going on about changing the C2 rules, I said factory tires, meaning no modifications, so no cut 'n shuts to make them whatever size you wanted. It is a REALLY popular class, is it not? Proline might be at fault for listing their tire at an out of spec height, but some newbie is still gonna show up to compete all excited about his new tires and be crushed when he's disqualified. Scaling is supposed to be fun.

I'm just glad the comps in my area don't follow those rules..

I'll just stick with my 5-year old flat-iron 1.9's...lol. They work AMAZING and look reasonably scale. And they're like right around 4" tall. I dunno what's up with wanting to run humongous mongoloid tires on a 1/10th scale truck that's supposed to closely resemble a 1:1. I can understand backyard bashers and 10 year old kids with cowboy hats, but that's different... They're full of candy and don't know what's best for them...

I love proline's g8 compound, but their scale tire selection is leaving much to be desired these days. Was going to buy their Swamper 1.9 but not after seeing it in person at the LHS... Not trying to be a downer, but dang...

lol, the companies started making all the tires 4.75 because that's the max size C2 tire!

Now, I am convinced 1, they don't care and 2, the U.S. SORCCA crawling market is so small compared to worldwide sales of areas that don't run rules at all. I am not mad, just bummed, truth hurts.

Make up your own set of rules and host your own competitions, everyone is free to do so. I also wish you luck in doing so, as long as fun is involved.

No comp I've ever attended in this region of 'Murica has turned anyone away from running with an out of spec rig. But it's explained to them why they won't receive a score with some helpful tips on how to bring their truck into spec.

If these are illegal than the tsl xls should be too. 121mm = 4.763".

Quite you! We use the imperial measurement listed!

Actually, because the TSL is the same mm listed but 4.75... I think it's an oversight.
They'll change the website to suit the rule.

Was the TSL illegal when it came out and they fixed it?

That works well, I'm glad you don't come to my comps either. Crappy attitudes ruin it for everyone.

On the math side of things.

4.75" = 120.65mm which rounds up to 121mm
121mm = 4.7637795(and a bunch of other numbers)" which rounds down to 4.76"

Whatever.

I was excited at first with this new tyre but now it's just meh.

Furthermore isn't it illegal to list a products specifications wrong in an advert? Now somebody go buy a proline tyre measure it and then take them to court for misleading advertising.

After perusing the proline site, 2 main things pop out at me. They're ignorant and they don't use any decimal places on any metric dimension of any tire.

There are 2.8 and 2.2/3.0 tires listed in the "rock crawling" section...

Everyone just start sending email to Pro line asking to change the number to 4.75.

Get em RCC

Having an advertised size different than the actual size isn't uncommon, even in the 1:1 world. But some consistency would be nice.

In the end I don't care, I mostly avoid proline stuff already, this just reinforces the reasons why.

Ordered a set for testing...was about to order the jconcepts, but since I liked the old ones and my 2.2's work fantastic after a bit of siping, let's see how these do.
