Default Best self-cleaning 2.2 mud tires?

im off to another build with spare parts....

Decided to build an scx10 chopped chassis 2.2 3s submersible mud bogger.

Currently have 5.5" CI DD closed cells and I can use HPI Mud bashers (off a Wheely king), or rc4wd Interco TSLs, or rc4wd 2.2 mudslingers.

I think I'm going to need to mod the tread blocks, but which tire would be best for only bogging and trail runs?

Thanks!

Not on the list either but these were just released.

RC4WD Genius Sem Fronteira 2.2 Scale Tires

Of what he listed, I would say some cut the small lugs out on the mudslingers.

But yes, the 2.2 mud bashers work great. Other videos in the thread as well.

After some thought. I would pick the Interco TSL's. They are narrower that the mud slingers and would be easier to spin in sticky Texas mud.

szczerba is running the 2.2 mud bashers and they seem to do very well in the mud and overall for a tractor style tire.

Any thoughts on the new rc4wd 2.2 Mud Slinger XL's I like that they are 5.5" tall...keep in mind strictly for mud and bashing no crawling whatsoever and just trail runs.

I ran those in 1.9 before years back but haven't tried the 2.2 with some closed cells....hmmm might be good for that lighter footprint and more mud spraying lol!

If power is no problem then nothing beats paddles!

Went with rc4wd 2.2 mud bashers...basically an AG tractor chevron open shoulder tread pattern 5.9" tall and about 2" wide with CI double deuce closed cells should do the trick! Will be mounted on SSD 10 hole black bead locks... Power plant will be the new Holmes TrailMaster brushless esc with a Holmes TrailMaster sensored brushless 540 fully waterproofed setup.

Also picked up a waterproof Savox SW-1210SG servo not a high voltage servo but is core less and metal geared 277.7 oz-in @ 6.0V with a slow speed of .15. Doesn't really push out as much torque and speed as I would prefer on a 2.2 rig, but I'm tired of always waterproofing expensive Hitec servos just to have to waterproof them again once the Plastidip wears off with age and servo heat.

Body I've decided to go with hardbody none of that lexan nonsense! Half the fun is cleaning up an ABS plastic body into the way you want it. Probably leaning towards a NewBright JK Wrangler since all my hard bodies have always been pick ups - 3 Tamiya Tundra full body sets, 1 Tamiya Hilux body set, and 1 rc4wd Mojave body set.

I was thinking about doing something absolutely ridiculous going with one of Tamiya's big rig cabs with full scale parts...but the money and the and higher COG deterred me. Thought about doing a Tamiya Sand Scorcher body on the scx10 frame as well but it's already been done and I think mud bugs just don't look mean enough!

paddles work great in the sand but not so great in the mud...they just spay mud all over the place...all show, very little go A chevron pattern works much much better.

Pardon the naivety.....what are these? They're not Treps, right?

Could I do a similar block removal on Treps, or should I leave the centre's intact and just remove every 2nd outer? I find they really fill up fast with mud and snow.

2.2 Ottsix U4 with lugs cut.

More lug cutting will equal ease of cleaning out with wheelspeed/throttle bumps.

My cut U4 Voodoos are the best tire I've used so far. Mud, snow, sand, and rocks bring it on!!! Can't go wrong.

Yup down south mud bogging is a sport lol! I actually met with the CEO of Interco Tire Corporation Warren Guidry and his son second in command David Guidry down in Rayne, LA.

...back then when my first gig out of college was working for China's largest tire manufacturer who even subcontracts for certain Goodyear STR trailer tires.

This guy Warren developed the first ever atv mud tire on a bar napkin. Ever since then they've obviously blew up specializing in mud and off-road tires for trucks and heavy machinery.

I have been running this cut all winter. They are unstoppable in mud, snow, dirt, sand. cant go wrong with this setup. I was running the silver compound.

Well decided to start on the build thread fellas...

So far I've decided on starting with an scx10 platform as I am most familiar with Axial and I have most of the necessary parts/electronics/upgrades already just laying around. Although a TVP chassis would be more realistic this will have to suffice for the moment. I mean the tires themselves are 6.0" tall!!

The Mud Demon...
