| SCX10 Tire/Wheel ???
I am interested in purchasing bead lock rims so I don't have to worry about gluing tires and trying to un-glue tires. I was wondering on feedback for these rims: Pro-Line FaultLine 1.9" Black/Black Bead-Loc 10 Spoke Front or Rear Wheels (2) for Rock Crawlers I am running a slightly heavier 1.9 SCX10 Powerwagon with metal sliders...with my NiMH battery it's 5.4lbs...the recent purchase of the BFG Krawler T/A's has left me wanting stiffer foams and I've been wanting to pull them off the glue but figured it'd be worth getting bead locks. So what foams would be recommended for these BFGs? Also, my 1:1 rig runs the Pitbulls and I was wondering how soft the stock foams are in these and if I'd need to get different foams if I purchased these: PIT BULL 1.9 Rock Beast Scale Crawler with Komp Kompound (2) I know everyone says go with CI foams...but RPP doesn't have them in stock right now....looking to make use of the coupon for this weekend. Here's the rig BTW: Last edited by (redbeard); 05-02-2015 at 01:05 PM. |

Hmmmm....I am assuming it's the common argument that spending the extra $40 to get the aluminum RC4WD Raceline Monsters is a better choice than the Pro-Lines because they are an all aluminum design. This is an assumption based on other reviews elsewhere around the web. Now the question is what foams work best inside these BFGs on a 5.5lbs rig?

Hot Racing or SSD steel 1.9 beadlocks are both sweet and work well for me. Order CI foams from him directly.

The rc4wd raceline wheels are the nicest 1.9 wheels I own. They are a great looking wheel and for $100 for a set that includes aluminum hexes and scale hardware they are hard to beat. Don't think they play nice with pitbull or proline tires though. I've got Trepadors mounted on mine right now. Of course rc4wd tires fit them nicely too. I've mostly run gladiators on them, talk about a good looking combo...

Okay....what foams to get for the 5.5lbs rig then with the BFGs? The stock foams are way too soft!!! However, the foams in my stock Ripsaws are about right...maybe a hair soft, but not bad

At least on a 8 to 9 lbs scx the Rock Beast foams are way too soft. Or rather too small. I have them stuffed in my rc4wd Flashpoints and there they work well. In my Rock Beasts I have the original foams from the Axial 2.2 BFG Krawlers.

| Re: SCX10 Tire/Wheel ??? CI Dual stage medium in front and firm in rear, or firms all around, or if you do more speed and dirt then Dueces Wild front and rear. All foams will soften some the more you run them. I usually buy what I think and then a pair or two firmer for testing and tune.
