| i dont know if anyone has done it this way, but this is how i narrowed the clod wheels. top wheel is stock middle wheel is where i cut in half (i cut it just behing the wheel center) bottom wheel shows the section i took out--doesnt look like a big chunk--but wait.......... once you clean up the 2 halves, you can test fit them together by slipping the inner half over the outer half (should be a light resistance going together). by doing it this way, if you made the cuts a little off, it provides a very stong overlap joint. once your satisfied with the fit, glue the 2 halves together, i use ambroid pro weld plastic liquid cement. it'll actually melt and fuse the plastic forming a strong bond. if you have chrome wheels (or painted), make sure you sand the chrome (or paint) off the areas to be glued for a proper bond. now you can see how much i actually narrowed compared to a stock wheel. | therims are about 2 1/4" wide overall end to end. as far as bacspace on the wheels, its about 1/8" . its almost no backspace at all. i guess i haveto be a little smarter on the terms to use in the search. i couldnt find a whole lot on narrowing wheels, but i knowits out there---cant teach a old dog new tricks i guess. |
