Vp 2.2 Method with Proline Flat Iron XL

I have a set of 2.2 method with 1" can. I want to fit it with proline flatiron 2.2 XL, any fittment problem?

On Vp website there is this statement "....****These wheels are not easily compatible with Pro-Line TSL SX Super Swamper XL 2.2" (Product ID: 10107-14)...."

Any one know what is the problem and would the same problem exists for the flat iron too?

I could not get them to fit my VP wheels....two different sets and a set of old reliable RC4wd wheels that had Swampers on them before. I bought a set of Gearhead wheels at Axialfest and they work with some trickery.

Best of luck Colgout. "thumbsup"

Sometimes the problem is with the beadpart itself. The center part of the rubber that goes in the wheel.
However, i surely would give it a try. When i bought my Proline Titus wheels they said it could only fit Proline tires. Well.... I mounted RC4WD dick Cepec's on them for one car and Hotbodies Sedonas for the R1 Crawler. Was no problem what so ever....
Mounting the tires with some extra caution will do the trick most of the times.

Good luck!

you MUST use longer starter screws, at least two. I used two different length starter screws and took my time, methods with CI deuces wild foams and tsl XL tires.

That won't fix the problem. Those do make certain combinations easier but that's only so you don't have to fight the width of the foams when assembling.

The issue with Proline tires is the thickness of the bead itself. Proline has a wider groove in their wheels to accept their tires. I can't speak specifically for them but I'm sure their disclaimer comes from having this on their beadlocks and the extra space not being tight enough for everyone else's tires.
