| 1.7 on 1.9 fitment
Is it possible to mount a 1.7 tire on a 1.9 wheel without any fitment or mounting issues? I'm looking to mount a 1.7 bogger on an Axial wheel Thanks for the help |

It'll fit no problem.

I personally like a few of the 1.7 tires out but refuse to invest in a set of 1.7 wheels. A 1.7 tire on a 1.9 wheel is more common than a 1.7 on a 1.7 |

I run the 1.7 iroks which are 4.19 tall, with 1.9 vp omf wheels, and 4.25 c.i. foams on my c1 rig. Everything looks, fits, and works awsome.

| Re: 1.7 on 1.9 fitment I too run the 1.7 irok on 1.9 gearhead rc trail King wheels with 4.25 ci foams (lil nova soft outer all around) honestly I didn't have much issues but I was a little lazy and figured I wouldn't ever buy 1.7 wheels so I cut the bead out to fit the 1.9 wheels. It was actually a very easy mod to do and made my life 10x easier. I did all this to run class 1, but come to find out my local group doesn't get all technical and just runs a class for 1.9 and another class for 2.2 lolll so I swapped em out and now I run the tsl sx on my trail kings and I gotta say that my "cut" irok's have a much cleaner hold on the bead then my prolines. If u have no intention of ever getting 1.7 wheels I suggest making the "cut"

| Re: 1.7 on 1.9 fitment No gluing neccessary, if you look along the bead. There's a bead to about 1.9 in size (this is my theory, could be wrong but I made the cut and it's a perfect fit) then for the 1.7 tires there's an extension and another bead ring extends. If you look at it there's a unmistakable ring. I cut along that ring and was left with a perfect 1.9 sized bead. (I can't seem to post pictures right now. If u wanna pm I can show some pictures but I'm the worst at DIY and if I could get it done a monkey with 4 left feet would knock it out the park) cuz my group that I crawl with only separates the groups into class 1 = 1.9 and class 2 = 2.2 I swapped them out for proline tsl sx (my favorite) the irok's haven't seen dirt but I yanked as hard I can at all angles and the bead held steady, not a millimeter of slip. I'm surprised no ones has mentioned this before, or maybe even made the mod, unless it ruins the tire but so far I haven't seen any issues that could arise pretty damn simple and made life a lot easier. As stated previously, if you have no intention of running/purchasing separate 1.7 wheels I think it's a well worth it mod and it's free

It can definitely be done without the cutting. But I have no intention of ever running or even purchasing a 1.7 wheel (I feel as the wheels get smaller the details and design gets too cluttered) so I figured I'd make my life easier. Honestly I am probably the worst at DIY on this forum and I got it done watching some tv. So I figured I'd make the suggestion for anyone who's either struggling or lazy like me

I'm running 1.7 boggers on 1.9 SSD's. Love the combo so far. |
