| 1.9 ottsix voodoo klr's
I just bought a set of KLR without foams. I am relatively new to this and would like some input on what foams work with these. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! I was thinking two stage like what ottsix sells, only they were out of stock.

For the 1.9 KLR Crawler Inovations lil Novas 4.5"s mediun rear soft front outer foam is what I'm running. The KLR is a exceptional tire it was a good choice.

I run the CI swamped xl deuces wild single stage. I vent the tread Bloch area with a 2mm leather punch. I like the firm dw foam and it does soften up a bit after a few runs. |

Thanks for the quick responses. I am on CI's website and they have two kinds of lil nova foams. What are the differences between standard inner and comp cut inner? Sorry to be a newb...LOL

Deuces wild ( my favorite) is the single stage. Little novas are the 2 stage.

As to the original question, I use the Ottsix foams with my KLRs. I found the stiffer CI foams didn't work as well as the Ottsix foams but that's my observations on my rig, I was using Lil Nova TSL XL foams BTW. There are others that have had good luck with the CI foams as stated above. These tires have a fairly stiff sidewall compared to other tires so a firmer foam just made the tires to firm fir my tastes. | |

The klr is over loaded with rubber IMO. Super thick tire carcass and heavily reinforced sidewalls. This is by design by tire manufacturers. A thicker rubber tire must use a softer foam. The thick rubber is doing the job of the foam and hindering your final tuning. A thick tire can only get so soft. Where as a thin tire will be very pliable and conformable but will need a more experienced foam tuner to make the tire perform to its full potential. ..Uploaded from the lab @ the C.I. Compound... |

I ran ci lil novas 4.50 and found they was little to stiff for my liking and ended up with the voodoo dual stage foams but as stated above the klrs are a stiffer tire than others so they will need a softer foam
