I used the deep woods a couple times now and I really like them.
Great tires. Dry, wet doesnt really matter.

Of course they also have their limits - but overall a very good tire for a very good price.

I did change the foams because the tire is very soft. I use pretty stiff foams which are a little bit too small. They give some flex, but not too much. Works really good so far.

Default Duratrax 1.9/2.2 Scale Tires

Look familiar?

Looks like the same molds and probably from the same factory.

Anyone tried mounting these to stock Axial Method beadlocks? I'm considering a set of Deepwoods or Showdowns in 2.2 form.

There's nothing funky about the bead (like a Proline tire) so I'd imagine they'd bolt up just fine. I had no problems mounting my 2.2 Showdowns to any wheel (though I have not tried the IFD Methods)

I'm just wanting to see how the barrel of the wheels fill out the tires.

Here's an Axial Method and an RPM Revolver. I like the RPM a lot but the bead lock will be the one I use. I'll need to come up with a better foam, too. The rubber compound is very soft and the side walls feel very thin. I had considered trying a 1" CI tire and narrow Dual Stage foam, but I think that wheel would be too skinny for these huge tires.

I have had the Deep Woods 1.9 on my TRX 4 for a month and they have tremendous grip. Foams are so soft though they are compressed from just the weight of my rig. I would post pictures but need some instruction on how to get them directly into my post or does it have to be a link? Can I use a link from Google drive? Sorry, new here.

I've ordered a set of scaler 2.2's for my new gmade GOM.

Same size as stock. And a great price.

$50 for 2 extra gmade tires to mount a spare.
$70 for 6 scaler cr 2.2's and spare rims to change them all and have spares.

No brainer. Can't wait to try them.

That's nothing new. Duratrax / Louise rebrand has been around for a while. They're rebrands not clones or knockoffs.

Is it just me, or do the 2.2 Scalers have no bead to speak of?

I like the tires enough, but putting them on a plastic beadlock is just asking for disappointment. They pop off with just a bit of throttle.

Hopefully the vanquish wheels I ordered will do the trick.

1.9 Showdowns perform ridiculously well, if you ask me. Combined with CI Deuces Wild XL foams. Fantastic in wet forests of varied terrain.

TRX4 with Louise Deep Woods vented (same tires) with proline single stage closed cell foams work well in deep river and on wet rocks.

My boy got a set of 1.9 Deep Woods this weekend and from the limited time he’s ran the truck, they seem to perform really well and hook up great. I run Hyrax and my 2 boys have the Hyrax knockoffs, all 1.9. I’ll admit, the knockoffs go everywhere my real deals go. But I’m anxious to see how well my boys Deep Woods do, side by side to my Hyrax.
