I installed a 3 pair of Deepwoods pre mounted on their wheel on my Axial 6x6. cheapest way I could get good tires on that truck. they worked great on the first test last Sat in the woods with loose dirt and LOTS of leaves on the ground.

I'm a bit surprised more people haven't tried the Showdowns. They're great as well.

I think they look less scale. I like my tires to look like the real ones. It's also why I won't get Hyrax...

I really like my 1.9s and 2.2s showdowns. They grippy as heck!
Better foams in all of DTX tires, they work surprisingly well.

I recently picked up some 1.9 Deep Woods myself. I did a sort of ad-hoc comparison between them and the Proline Predator Compound Krawler's I picked up right around the same time. Same rig, same CI foams, same day, same course. To my amazement, I found the Deep Woods to hook up and work better in almost every situation. On the rocks, on the trail, in loose loam and dirt, on hard pack. I stated that I'd probably get "flamed" by PL fan-boys, but I had to give the overall nod to the Deep Woods. What's more, they were $40 shipped for a set of 4, versus the $62 for the PL's. Now, the PL's are certainly more scale, but if that's not as important to you, and you want a good, economical tire that just plain works, I'd highly recommend the Deep Woods. I'm still a bit shocked TBH.

Which CI Foams did you use in the Deep Woods?

A while back, Eddy from CI recommended 6.0 double deuce with the second outer ring and a set of side tuning rings (cw-3015) since they are very wide

I thought I had a set of 4 Deep Woods but turns out I had 2 Deep Woods and 2 Show Downs. Guess I wasn't paying attention when I grabbed them off the peg assuming they were the same

Anyways bought those a while ago so that's water under the bridge but I'm trying to decide which I like better to get another pair. The issue I have is on the pair of Deep Woods one of the foams is a darker color and much stiffer than the other foam in the other tire. I'm not sure I like either foam honestly but I would at least like for them to be the same when I buy a pair of tires. Crappy trim job is my doing so I could get the bead to sit while trying to put the bead lock ring on.

Grab some Crawler Innovation foams, problem solved.

Did Horizon pull the plug on the Duratrax website? It's been down for a while now, and trying to look at the Duratrax tire selection on Horizon's website is clunky at best.
