Good looking wheels. Less machine time = lower cost. Lack of beadlock ring and hardware is considerably fewer actions. I do just feel that having a beadlock ring adds to the scale look of a rig. And for them to include hubs is a great value as well. Can't wait to see better pics...not that I need any wheels anytime soon. Last edited by Shinjari; 07-17-2016 at 06:30 PM. |

I'm personally a fan of non-beadlock ring bead locks. Regardless of how they were ( or weren't) announced, at least VP was listening and offered up something new. |

You're joking right? Just look at the wheels and it's pretty obvious that they're much simpler wheels. Less pieces and less refined machining probably have much more to do with the lower price than any new machines that may or may not exist.

There are new machines. A lot of them. Pallet machines that rapidly speed up production on everything which is why there is a lower price on axle housings and vvds already. Lower quality machine work though? Absolutely not. Same quality, just with the incision line it's sometimes either a material swap(links), or a simpler design requiring less tooling and machine time hence the cost. China won't be able to compete since the quality will remain but the price will match import. At $100 for a set of wheels and hubs, they will be one of the lowest priced sets in the industry with the best quality as well. |

Why would I spend another 25%, when I can already get the best in the business from VP? I saw a video on IG earlier showing the new 2.2 kmc. Two rims, hubs and the center hub cap was $62.50. The hubs aren't anything fancy either, just simpler. Edit: look up stupidshethead on IG to see video. Last edited by 84yoda; 07-17-2016 at 11:23 PM.

China will have no problem competing. They already sell VP clones at half the price. And they are starting to sell their own designs at less than $100. And they're not junk wheels. Like it or not, China is here to stay. Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.

They are junk and already seen them broken. A cast wheel will never be as well made as one from solid Kaiser 6061. Promise the machine work is just as nice as any VP product, that's not part of the compromise to get lower prices, I assure you of that. China can't compete in the sense of quality to price point. Anyone can make crappy cast products with no integrity on the cheap. |

I'm not sure why people think $100-$120 is a "great deal" for wheels. That isn't a big enough discount over normal VP stuff to attract me as a buyer. I have no intentions of ordering these Incision wheels or VP wheels. I was really hoping these were going to compete with the China wheel prices. They're not even close, still almost twice as much. They look great and lots of people will buy them so congrats to Harley on the launch but they missed the mark for me.

Okay I took the bait....I am relatively new to the RCC forum and culture. Why are people so angry about a new product by vp/incision? I thought this was good news, but half of the posts in this thread are negative. I don't get it.

The black wheels looks good! Very happy with my Gearhead wheels because of the weight 99g each tough. Will they sell spare wheels? Sent from my iPhone |

I own a few sets of the Chinese knockoffs and I like them. The finish isnt as nice as VP, but when you have some dust and dirt on them, you cant tell. I havent had and durability issues yet but I am not running them on anything that is fast and I havent dropped them off a cliff. With that said, I would MUCH rather buy an American made product from a company that supports the hobby than buy a cheap clone from China. It is just very hard for me to do so when the real deal is 4x the cost. These new wheels will still be double the price of the Chinese knockoffs, but I can deal with that and will be ordering a set. I am sure it will be a superior quality product and I'm putting money into American hands.

If China wheels are junk that means all RC4WD wheels are junk. If cast aluminum from China is junk then pretty much every car on the planet is junk. It is just so laughable when people spew the "China junk" nonsense and it shows how ignorant you really are.

A lot of people seem to like being unhappy, and they choose to spend their time complaining about mundane events instead of actually playing with these toys. It is easy to spot, they hate on everything and have a LOT of opinions with little/ no experience to back it up. It normally starts with a " I've never seen one, but I'll sure tell you why it sucks". It's totally good news. A company working to improve prices without compromising strength and quality, it is not a negative event in any way. I've owned beadlocks from every main US maker and many imported ones. VP still has the best design IMO. The clamping design is far easier to assemble and has never once let me down. We can't forget that they brought the "hub" to the market, with practically all companies copying that aspect or being VP compatible. If I'm not running VP hubs, I'm breaking wheels at the hex or getting the hex trapped inside a rim. Only my shelf queen scale rigs get non VP stuff at this point, I can't break it if I don't drive it.
