1.9 beadlocks compatible with Rock Beasts

I apologize ahead of time if this info is posted somewhere already. I've looked and looked, and thought having this info all in spot may help others. The age old porblem of fitting Rock Beast tires to wheels is now haunting me. I've tried Hot Racing beadlocks....no luck. I almost pulled the trigger on some RC4WD Pro 10s, because it said they fit Rock Beasts. Then I read where everyone has trouble mounting them. I'm ready to go back to the trusty ol Axial 8 holes!

What beadlocks have you all had success with?

I think you're the first person I've seen to have problems mounting Rock Beasts. That said, SSD, VP, gear head, ProLine, Locked Up RC all make quality wheels that will mount RBs with ease.

As SCREAMER said, pretty much everything should work with Pitbull tires. RC4WD wheels aren't the best. I prefer Gear Head myself. You won't find a nicer and easier to mount wheel. I also use Fanquish. The new Incision wheels aren't bad, but you'll need to remember to order hubs separately.

Since HR and Pro10s were mentioned, I will suggest the SSD steel wheels as they are of similar style and construction. Mounting a full set of 1.55 Growlers on the SSD 1.55 steel wheels took me maybe 10 minutes. I have a set of 1.9s coming to go with my Rock Beast XLs and I expect another easy mounting experience. "thumbsup"

Incision beadlocks include the hubs, the VP line do not.

Oh that's right. I remember that now that you say it. Thanks for the correction.

I have the rock beast mounted on SSD beadlocks and have no complaints.

your problem is trying to mount them to the steelie style wheel.

thanks for all the info, guys...my son is stuck on Proline TSLs, and he saw a Boom Racing wheel he liked....I ordered them for him and then tried one of my RBs....I couldn't believe how easy it was to mount. I may go with another style Boom Racing wheel, or perhaps SSD.

I appreciate y'all!

Yeah, it's the internal beadlocks you heard horror stories about, and it's true what they say, lol.

No its not internal beadlocks it's specifically steelies. (the wheels that clean together at the hub)

You just have to be careful and take your time, they get easier after doing a couple times, well worth the great looking and durable steel wheels. "thumbsup"

Yes, I should've been a bit more specific.

I ordered the rc4wd blue internal rings for Proline tires to see if they make a difference. I'll try to remember to report back to this thread.

I've never had a issue with a standard internal beadlocks but the steelies I can pull them out with little to no force.

As time passed and my BL wheel collection grew I became partial to the Gearhead EZ lock design. Its been around for a long time. Because of the vice like grip the EZ locks produces the tire will tear before it releases from the wheel. Even the most flimsy beaded difficult to mount tires get locked down tight. For the super scale conscious person there not the prettiest but IMO there the best for holding a bead and mounting is a piece of cake. I like the all Delrin ones myself their a little lighter than most and have an all black finish. But remember not all Gearhead wheels are EZ lock.

I agree Ez Lock works great but as you said not as scale as I would like which is why I don't run them. the gold centered ENKs are closer to scale than the rest though imo.
