Foams for 1.9 tsl xl

I'm wanting to get some new foams for my 1.9 tsl xl's. I been looking at the crawler innovations deuces wild but wanted to see what type of foams you all had the best luck with.

The foams that came with the tires are just way too stiff IMO. I thought about trying some regular soft foams out of rc4wd compasses but wanted to see what you all were using.

BTW if there are topics about this already, my search says the page can not be displayed at this time so I'm not sure what's going on with that.

I appreciate your help. Thanks.

The PL dual stage ones are decent.

4.75" Lil Novas comp cut with soft outer. Once they are broken in there epic!, i only scale comp crawl tho no trail runs or distance driving. Highly recommend CI foams

Stock ProLine foams are too stiff? And RC4WD foams are not too soft? You're a rare one there. LOL

Both Crawler Innovations and ProLine made dual stage foams. At this point I prefer the ProLine version, but they don't have firmness options like CI.

I like the CI Deuces Wild, give them some time to break in properly. :)

I thought the stock memory foam is great after trimming. The proline dual stage are much stiffer. I saved my stock foams just incase i don't like the dual stage from proline.

CI Lil' Nova 4.75 soft outers or 4.5 medium outers.

I may cut mine down just to give it a try. It's old school but I don't really have much other uses for them.

Re: Foams for 1.9 tsl xl

Sorry for digging this thread up after almost one year, but I'm looking forward to buy a set of TSL XL 1.9 tires and am currently deciding what foam to put inside.

I read several people recommend the single stage Deuces Wild which raises more questions than answers to me. I'm no expert or anything, but using the information available, these single stage foams are meant to be used to fast paced rock racer, while the dual stages like the Lil Nova, for rock crawling, as far as I understood of course.

My rig is a Gelande 2 D90, heavy, about 7 to 8lbs RTR. I was thinking about getting the Lil Nova 4.75 soft front, medium rear, but the thought of these DW recommendations makes the decision a bit unconfortable.

What do you guys think?

It's enough that your rig is heavy.. but if it's both slow and light, then deuces wild is a bit too stiff. If you run Proline wheels, I'd get their foam instead of CI. It matches their xl tires.

Agree with tjohanne, but I really like the Proline single stage foams, give them a little time to break in. If you prefer they also sell dual stage and their foams are very high quality and fit great. :)

What foams would you guys use for the Trx-4 sport and the swamper, thinking of getting a set when I get the truck.

Proline single stage foams or CI DW foams. Maybe go dual stage fronts, but I've been happy with the single stages. "thumbsup"
