Proline Destroyer 2.2 tire question

I need to find some wheels that will fit these tires. The tires are 2.87" in width, how narrow can the wheels be?

I'm currently using Traxxas style wheels meant for the Stampede. They are 1.88" wide, and have a small positive offset. The problem I have is that I have too much of a scrub radius, I'm having to use a 15mm hex hub extension to get the wheels to fit. The only way to fix it is by having a narrower wheel. How narrow can I go and still fit these 2.87" wide tires?

What are you trying to run the tires on?

Re: Proline Destroyer 2.2 tire question

The bronco wheelbase Vaterra Ascender.

So far it's looking like it won't be possible to have a zero scrub radius with these tires mounted on. With the 1.88" wide wheel mounted without the 15mm extentions, the steering knuckle rubs up against the tires slightly. I tried the wider stance, but the scrub radius is too excessive because it understeers when going forward and oversteers when going backwards. So now instead of a wider stance with negative offset wheels or the extensions, I'm wondering if the 2.87" tires will go on to wheels that are narrower than the Traxxas 1.88" wide 2.2 wheels.

I was going to suggest maybe narrowing the tire, but didn't know the tire so I searched it and it comes up as a monster truck style tire.
Not knowing what type of rig / look your going for? Couple suggestions I can give is a different wheel like the ones on the smt10 or different tire more friendly to the wheel you have like the rc4wd 2.2 mud bashers
