Default Need foams advice for KLR gold.

So I tried running the Ottsix foams in Toyzuki SCX.2. This weekend I learned the foams are way to stiff. A few friends recommend sanding the ribs off the inside of the tires. This is something I've never had to do with any tire before.

Is there a correct foam setup I can use? I was thinking CI dual stage softs? Anyone with a lighter SCX running KLRs have advice?

CI makes foams for them no problem. I run soft in the front and medium in the rear and yes 2 stage for sure. Get the comp cut inner and you will be very happy with your performance.

No need to modify the tires. Just CI foams as suggested by Billy D in the 4.25 size

I liked the voodoo foams the best in the KLRs when I ran them.

But the 4.25 comp cut CI foams will also work.

The best foams for the KLR are found in other tires...

I wish that was true. I tried them, as you can see by the picture there's just not enough give to them.

The under 10 lb ones?

How heavy is your truck?

The pic above doesn't really show a whole lot. I'd be more interested in what the tire looked like from the other side or the lower tires.

The KLR foams I have are significantly softer than the 4.25 CI foams I had.
