RC tires are already wide - often too wide. I wouldn't see why anybody would want wider tires. |

Yeah, 4.5 would be max height I'd want, preferably 4.4 for me and several other people I have talked to.

The outer lug spacing looks better on the new 4.7” versions compared to the 4.75” ones.

Yes. I would like to have more 4.5-4.6 tires. All those 4.75 are just too big for my taste. And the 4.19 is also too big for my small tire rigs. More 3.9 tires too! I almost orderd those new mtr because they are "just" 4.7 and then realised they are way too wide for my truck :-(. Otherwise they look great tough. |

| Re: 1.9 Goodyear MT/R Shorter yet wider which is odd. But odder still is that they would go through all the trouble to make the same tire in slightly different dimensions... |

| Re: 1.9 Goodyear MT/R Yeah I'm surprised they went through the trouble of doing a new mold just for such a minor change. I was hoping for more of a 4.3-4.5 offering based on that title.

Exactly what I was getting at. Qhy such subtle changes? Poor decision IMO. There are plenty of people who would buy a "mid sized" tire.

THey widened and shortened the MTR? That’s too bad. They are such a nice tire as they were |

They have listed both. I guess you still will be able to buy the "old" mtr 4.75.

I like my 1.9's, but at 4.19, they are a touch smaller than the stock Ascender tires. A 4.4-4.5 would be ideal and others here seem to think the same.. Why RC4d went for a slightly smaller, but wider is odd to me.

I, too, was puzzled by the slight change in the new 4.7" tire so I contacted RC4WD to ensure this information was correct. They confirmed that the new tire is slightly shorter and a bit wider than the 4.75" tires. I'm running the 4.19" MT/Rs for the summer and looking for a taller winter tire - the 4.7" might be a good choice!

Try the Gmade MT1904. I got them when I bought another Ascender for parts. It came with them amnd I prefer them to my Deep Woods in wet, rooty, leafy terrain. Theyt have a squarer profile with lugs that seem to grip better than the rounded Deep Woods profile.
