looking for 1.55 version of this so you may have seen a thread I made in paint/body about the tribute truck I am building of my Pop's old 79 F100. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/paint...-me-start.html I got a Jconcepts body and now I need the wheels. he had cragar quick trick chrome steel (with rivets?) just like these http://i67.tinypic.com/2vl4ql4.jpg here is the key thing: I need the nearest thing in 1.55 since he only had maybe 32" tires on them. maybe even 31". wow, I just googled 31 bfg and this is the exact setup he ran. http://i63.tinypic.com/257olzo.jpg so as you can tell, 1.9 is too big for this build. I know the choices of 1.55 are slim pickings, but if I could get close, that would be nice. I know rc4wd made a set that was close but hard to get them now as they no longer make them. the other question then is tires. again, rc4wd makes a set that looks REALLY close, I have yet to find any other brands that make a 1.55 that looks like the old BFG t/a. however, I did find the Tamiya pajero tires are near spot-on. but those being regular 52mm or 2" ID tire, puts it more in the 1.9 size. anyone got any ideas? I really appreciate the help. |
Re: looking for 1.55 version of this Check out gear head rc. I just checked ebay and they have some rc4wd 1.5s that are close. |
Re: looking for 1.55 version of this GCM makes some 10 hole 1.55s that look pretty close http://gcmracing.ca/ccdata/images/full2_41_265.jpg GCM Webstore Canada International - Mini-Mag 10 Beadlock |
Re: looking for 1.55 version of this I don't think you'll find those exact wheels. The RC4WD Pro10s are the closest I can think of, but they are only 1.9's. TowerHobbies.com | RC4WD Pro10 1.9 Steel Stamped Beadlock Wheel http://www.gpmd.com/imagel/r/lrc4c0073.jpg For 1.55s the RC4WD Mickey Thompsons are fairly close, but they are external beadlocks. http://www.rc4wd.co.uk/product/Z-W0198-4.jpg |
Re: looking for 1.55 version of this yeah gearhead ENK are close, just paint them silver and so far seems most likely. I remember somebody was making stamped steel... older rc4wd I think? also LMAO at your avatar. literally said that verbatim to somebody at work this morning haha I'm considering walter and the dude to sit inside my next build after the F100. naturally Donnie would be in a folgers can between them. anyway, yeah... wheels? also 5 lug is a plus but that's kinda too picky I know. |

Re: looking for 1.55 version of this Cross RC makes some 1.55's apparently, very similar style. Come in white or black so some painting would be required. CROSS-RC.COM |

Re: looking for 1.55 version of this They do 1.55 tires. CROSS-RC.COM I reduced a set of 1.9 Dirt Grabbers to 1.55's. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com...297ac811b9.jpg If you could find someone to part with these REC wheels, you have it made. http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/att...1&d=1419012599 |
Re: looking for 1.55 version of this :shock::shock::shock: THOSE REC ARE PERFECT!!!!!!!! whats the story with those? no longer produced/limited run? google powers... guide my hand... wait wait... are those just drilled out Tamiya CC01 lowering kit wheels!? oh man... then I could fit those tires I mentioned earlier from the pajero. hmmm but would that be too big for the jconcepts ford body? I suppose there is only one way to find out... Thanks for the pic! Quote:

Re: looking for 1.55 version of this Ok the cross 1.55 in black would be ok if i painted or maybe even strip them down, polish? How the heck do i order anything? No option for purchase on the website? These will be acceptable placeholders until i can get a set of those rec. Even with those, how do i get on the email list or... is he only on facebook? |
Re: looking for 1.55 version of this FACEBOOK? Wassat? Sounds painfull! No, I will be on there soonish as I'm switching to making Lexan & Styrene bods over the nest few months, and I'll be doing 'Traditional' biz when I do- dealers, inventory, FB & Instagram etc.- but 'til now my bits have been hard to find & very limited, with no inventory so..... ? I'm picked pretty clean Mate, and those wheels were the Super Scale series which were made in 1.9, AND 1.55 a bit later. IF I have a set, they're in my personal stash, and all I can do is dig & see IF I have a set that I'd part with- Read: I can't promise, and realistically, the chances are not good. But I shall look Mate, just don't hold your breath as I don't want to shoot you down. Chris REC |
Re: looking for 1.55 version of this Well, looked through everything, including odd spare parts and spares, and....Sadly, I have nothing available Mate. This is common, which is why I didn't want you to get your hopes up. Very few of my products get made, as REC is not your usual hobby manufacturer. Sure hope you can find something that'll make ya happy with your build, Apologies, Chris REC |
Re: looking for 1.55 version of this Wow thank you for checking and getting back to me. I really do appreciate it. I totally understand and knew it was a long shot, but worth a try. Btw im looking forward to the bodies! Any chance of 1979 ford f series hard body?? Heh. You know... worth a try! Thanks chris! Okay, back to the drawing board... |
