Default Memory foams

I got some G8 super swampers with memory foams in them and they seem very nice. Firmish but also soft. The SW XL G8 use open cell foam, is there any reason more foams aren't using the memory foams over closed and open cell?

They have done great in both rock racing and crawling.

Memory foams where the popular thing years ago for crawlers. Get them right and I liked them a lot. Scalers, meh not so much. Water and cold weather and such.
