Default New SSD Wheels Hubs with Brake Rotors

New wheel hubs with faux brake rotors. Same fitment as SLW hubs with metric thread (M2.5). Should fit most brand wheels with SLW compatible hubs.

Wheel Hub with Brake Rotor

Also available with 3mm offset:

They are ready to ship so RPP and Amain will probably have them in less than 2 weeks...

My SSD stamped steel wheels two halves (front and rear) do not center well as they only index off the six lug screws that attach to the hubs, there's no raised center on the hubs.

Nice to see that these index the center of the wheel with a nice tall raised portion, will all your hubs now do this?

nice. the hub/rotor combo has been done before, but your two tone take on it is a nice addition. very good looking. also both drilled and sloted. and the drills go threw, and the slots dont just like real life counter parts.

did you say 2.5mm hardware?
isnt SLW 3mm?

will be a bit of a loose fit in a VP/copy wheel with a 3mm hole.
and hopefully Locked up makes 2.5mm "lug nuts" for us scale nuts.

SLW are 4/40, close to 3mm though. I wonder the same thing about the size difference.

These are awesome and I will definitely be ordering a couple sets for my trucks!!!

Isn't that one of those things you should know if you are making SLW compatible wheels?

SLW hubs use 4-40 hardware which works out to about 2.8mm. The SSD hubs I have mounted up to other SLW compatible wheels never had any play from the 2.5mm screws once tightened up.

As for scale lugs, Locked Up sells M2.5 acorn nuts. Throw them on some M2.5 set screws to make your own lugs. I had to do that for a few wheels that use 2-56 and extra long M2 hub screws.

Yes it's been done before by me for another manufacturer. I didn't see any SLW rotor hubs?
Anyway these are SSD rotor hubs...
Not a loose fit at all as the front step is the same as an SLW hub.

Note the front and rear stamped steel wheel halves in relation to each other and the hex hub, none of which are in line with each other. "Lugnut" screws also are noticeably off-center. Center of hex hub is flat without that nice raised center lip to index both front and rear wheel halves.

Edit, that's all stock SSD hardware etc.

On the D hole steel wheels the hubs have a 1mm step (not flat as you suggested) on the hub which will centre the hub on the rear half of the wheel. The inner beadlock ring + tire bead, 6 screws and users eyes will normally stop the front half from being too far off like your photo. As the steel wheels are two halves and the step is not 2mm deep on these wheels they can be assembled badly if you are not even trying to do it correctly.

We have sold 1000s of steel wheel and nobody has complained about it. Yes we could add another 1mm to the step on that particular wheel but it's not been an issue as far as I know. Maybe we will update the D hole hubs on the next batch next year as they need TRX4 update anyway...

Anyway you are talking about a completely different hub specific to the D hole wheels. These new hubs and all of our other wheels have a Axial hex compatible hub with a 2mm step anyway. So you can't assemble them badly even if you try.

So you can just use these new hubs to help you assemble wheels properly...

Edit: looking at your photo again you might just have a badly stamped front half (screw holes not centered) I would need to see more photos of it so email support@ssd-rc.com

All my SSD wheels mount up off-center like this, I'll double check to see if the hubs are stepped or flat. Never had a problem with RC4WD or HR stamped steel wheels like this.

Edit: Checked and the hubs that came with mine have very slight raised center (about 2mm as you stated) that centers only the rear half of the wheel, would be nice if they were tall enough to center the front half of the wheel with the rear.

Just when I think I'm good with the way my scx 10 2 turned out, you go ahead and make these awesome brake rotors. Guess it's not done after all. Going to,have to get me a set of these.

i meant the 2.5mm screws going threw a 4-40 hole (~3.1mm) but thats only .3mm per side. probly a non issue.

either way they look great!

Non issue, as per my explanation. We have been using larger holes in our aluminum wheels to accomodate the larger 4-40 hardware for a long time now. So using M2.5 thread hubs on any other wheels will be fine also.

Thanks
